As the title says, could you guys please advise me on the difference, and is it worth paying approx. $70 more for the 510 compared to the 700. Looking to buy off the eBay 20% sale currently. Also, is the writing experience with the pen on par or even better than the surface?

The 510 has a better CPU. The battery life and screen are worse. If you aren't doing CPU intensive things then the 700 might be the better choice. I haven't used the pen much so can't comment on that.
