there's always windscribe, you can always turn the vpn off when you get the link providing it is legal

Avoid Cyberghost, UI is great and speeds used to be great but are terrible now

"Best" is a bit subjective, there are many aspects: easy to set up? price? speed? privacy? reliability? quality of support? operated under which jurisdiction? etc., etc. Try to find reliable reviews; most of them are shallow, miss some important criteria, often advertise, not test. Restore Privacy site is an excellent and unbiased: https://restoreprivacy.com Their "best" recommendations: https://restoreprivacy.com/best-vpns/

PIA is a very poor choice: operates under US jurisdiction and recommended? seriously? Various concerns and issues: https://restoreprivacy.com/?s=pia

After testing many over the years myself and my friends use VPN.AC: https://restoreprivacy.com/vpn-ac-review/ I can not fault their product, and their support responds fast and is knowledgeable. Inexpensive, 1 week trial access for $2.

PIA is one of the few that have had their zero logs policy tested in court.

  • AIRVPN has good reps on reddit, not the cheapest though.

  • I use DNS-trick.com for Netflix USA and have never had an issue.

  • Tor browser.

ExpressVPN. Have it on all the time using an Australian server with no visible slow down in speeds. Also comes highly rated. But its not cheap though.

    • Do you have any problems with paypal or hotmail when you're on the VPN? I also get transactions refused and have to authenticate?

      • Dont use Hotmail so cant comment on that.
Haven't noticed any issues in using paypal, but since you mentioned it, I will monitor it to see if there is a problem.

  • Probably just me…. :(

    Cheers.

PIA is a consistently good VPN from my experience with them. It's decently priced (the usually have a StackSocial 2 year deal on offer), pretty easy to setup, tech support was good when I had troubles with it, and the VPN add-on for my RPi Kodi box had PIA support built-in, making it even simpler to connect to the service to watch stuff.

They're North American-based so if you're extra paranoid about the NSA you might want to avoid them, but if you're just using the service to watch shows rather than running a black market empire I imagine you'd be down at the bottom of the list of users the authorities would want to track
