What is your favourite 'Quiet' place in Sydney?

So.. Everyone of us needs some time to do read novels or study. Often our house is not the most quiet place. Where do you go?

A cafe, beach, hilltop, forest reserve?

If you can name them that will be even better..

I am looking for a place to go and spend some time reading. I can not do this in my house..

I'm from Western Sydney.

Thanks in advance

    Your council's library + a pair of Bose QC35?

    • Yeah.. The library in my council is kinda S**t.. And I like it in the open.. Parra library is a pretty good option..!!

  • It's a long way from the Western Sydney, but I reckon Royal Botanic Garden has lots of quiet place to do some reading
Especially nice when the weather is nice.

    Auburn Botanic Gardens

    • This one - Quite and not crowded

  • Bicentenntial Park might be worth a look - depending on exactly where you live it's 'Western' Sydney and, while it can get busy on weekends, it's pretty large and shouldn't be too hard to find a little nook to read in relative peace and quiet

    • Not far from Parra

      • You're not too far off then - I think Concord West and Olympic Park stations are nearby if you want to get there by PT, otherwise I recall parking being free last time I drove there for a picnic

  • Growing up in Maroubra we used to have it good till recently when all these flops moved in. Now its always fairly loud on my street. I use to go and chill in the headlands now that usually busy with hipsters. So i head out of Sydney my partners parents live up the coast from there i head inland to a few national parks and state forest. You could always head towards Penrith and to the mountains. Take a day and just chill.

I know its not Sydney but its hard to find an alone spot now days

    • I agree.. Beaches are just overcrowded.. National parks still offer a bit of privacy depending on where you go..!!

  • Parramatta Park is huge, definitely will find a quiet spot somewhere.

Bookshop cafes - some cafes get iffy when you buy 1 coffee but spend hours there, these places won't have that problem.

Some museums also have really nice lobby/chill out areas

  • Homebush has been dead since 2000?
