Good cast iron cookware.Keep them well seasoned and they will last a lifetime.

A good quality double edged razor - might cost you $50 - not much money, but can last you a life time. E.g the Merkur 34c.

Much better for the environment then buying disposable razors and throwing out the whole unit over and over - that is such a waste.

    Eneloops
    Xiaomi Powerbank

      • How can you mistreat a powerbank?

The USB ports on them keep wearing out. I've just been throwing thme in the bottom of my bag and letting them get scratched and dirt get in them

Second-hand hand tools, especially those made in Germany, Sweden or Japan, and bought for very little money at car boot sales/weekend markets and garage sales.

I will add British and Australian tools to that. Both countries made high quality, incredibly durable tools like planes, vises, pliers etc.

    Automatic Seiko watch.

  • The Xiaomi Piston headphones, great sound quality for the price.

    • Piston's aren't that great tbh, the 2.1's were good at the time but the new pistons are poor in comparison. VE monk's for about $7 then KZ ZS5 for about $40 are the go to now on a budget.

There is no way Chinese headphones are in any way BIFL.

      • I've owned hundreds of pairs of earphones/headphones. Owned all the way up to hd800 + LCD-X's. Chi-fi earphones are a big deal at the moment. Not that many good headphones out but plenty of earphones. And most now will come with removable/replaceable cable as well so only way you'll kill it is damaging the driver.
If you know what to buy you'll get quality at unbeatable bang for buck.

  • rechargeable batteries and charger on sale 1/2 price is a must!

    • Bought a lot of eneloops when Dick Smith closed down!
Then SMH posted they were getting manufacturer kickbacks and stockpiling eneloops.

$2 Kiwi brand (made in THailand) knives. Found in many Asian kitchens!

    • Where to find these @$2?

      • +1

Usually in Asian grocers, the main one in town will usually have them. In Sydney that would be Bankstown and Cabramatta.

        • Ok. ebay is much more.
