Tenplay Adblock Not Working

Have had no problems with ad-block until now, as it seems tenplay now plays around 6-7 minutes of ads, yet up until yesterday it was working fine. Anyone else have this issue and have any solutions? thanks

    The ads are more entertaining than tenplay content. It's simply a new feature to improve ratings.

  • oh yeah true, was going to catch up on Shark Tank

        Don't worry, its a game of cat and mouse.
        Even YouTube has caught up. I have to disable AdBlockers because it screws with it badly.

        There should be something new / or update, so the Ads will be blocked again.

        • Yeah I been getting.. remove ad block software to play this content messages on YouTube sometimes now
          or it simply doesn't play the video.

        • @toblerone21: Its not working for me. did you do anything to the settings?

        • @xKaizokux: ditto. what filters have you got enabled?

    thing that sh*ts me about the TenPlay ads is that they're significantly louder than the program you're viewing

    • +1

      Yep, I'll be watching something while the kids are asleep then BANG, quick where's ….. the remote!!!

      Thanks Darkside ;-)

  • Bugga! Spoke to sooonnnn, just installed uBlock Origin on chrome (none others now installed), loaded Survivor and an ad plays… let it run then watch show, then more ads….

    Is there a setting I have to do or something??

    TIA

      yep just tried it then and adverts appear, so uBlock worked for a total of 1 day. Channel 10 must have changed something on their website. Guess I'll keep installing different ad blocking extensions on chrome until it works.

    I've been watching survivor on tenplay and yeah only tonight it's given me so many ads both on Chrome and FF. Both have ABP installed. Shitting me off so much. At one point it played TEN ads in a row! So bloody annoying!!

  • Anyone found a solution to this yet?

    Bloody annoying watching any commercial let-alone the same one repeating…

    Strange/Odd bunch of guys selected for Sophie, reckon I wouldn't last long before giving a Tony Abbott to one of them ;-)

      This doesn't work for me. Audio starts but video doesn't

        Okay, disregard the filters above, the following is currently working in Chrome on Windows 10:

        ||*.g00.tenplay.com.au/g00/*$media,domain=*.g00.tenplay.com.au
        ||*.g00.tenplay.com.au^$xmlhttprequest,first-party

          I've been having this problem (only in chrome), for well over a month (had to use alternative browsers for tenplay shows).

          Thank you for this!

          Hi @LeoFender

          Perhaps it was included in the deleted post above but wondering where/what I do with that?

          TIA

        • +1

          @linoc66:

          The 2 lines need to be added into the My filters list in the uBlock dashboard:

          • Right click the red uBlock shield icon and choose Options
          • Click the My filters tab
          • Paste the 2 lines into the box and click Apply changes

          This is assuming you're using Chrome.

          For all other browsers, the following link has those instructions:

          Thank you so much!

        • @LeoFender:
          It Works!!! :-) Thanks Leo! I'd buy you a beer but uknow… ;-)

        • Champion

        • That worked, thank you!

          For me it's not so much the Ads, it's the ads when you are trying to find the spot you left-off. I often forget what episode I was watching, or how far into I was, and with the Ads it's impossible to do that without getting mad.

        • @PhilsComputerLab: Same for me. If they could do it in a seamless way without the exact same ads, I wouldn’t have looked for a solution :)

        • @LeoFender:

          I've had to get rid of the 2 lines in UBlock in order for the live channels to work on TenPlay in Chrome these days :(

  • Surprised Tenplay has got around this. Using uBlock Origin and adds still appear. Any updates on this?

    try firefox with ad block.
    working with no ads

  • Hi All, anyone noticed +7 now have a similar adblock thing happening, any fix?

    Perhaps LeoFender can help again? (I don't know how to do that @username link thing?)

    • Maybe it's just me, but PLUS7 seems to be very hit and miss in Chrome. Some episodes just don't start at all, with or without any ad-blocker.
      Working perfect in Firefox and Safari for me though, so maybe theres some HTML5 vs Flash issue with my setup.

      Anyways, give this filter a try and let me know if it does the trick:

      au.tv.yahoo.com#@#.y7-advertisement

      • +2

        Thanks LeoFender,
        this works if you put 7plus instead of tv.yahoo.

        au.7plus.com#@#.y7-advertisement

        • worked for me - thanks

          Hi Joey, is this still working for you? its not for me, any update appreciated. Cheers!

        • @linoc66: no, I use this one now. I just changed the tenplay to 7plus, and it works ||.g00.7plus.com.au/g00/$media,domain=.g00.7plus.com.au
          ||
          .g00.7plus.com.au^$xmlhttprequest,first-party

    Hi all,

    I managed to fix the issue using good old AdBlock:

    Right click the AdBlock icon and choose "Options"
    Click the "CUSTOMIZE" tab
    Paste the following lines into the "Manually edit your filters:" box and "Save":

    Please let me know if it works.

    • Not working, any update? thanks

  • for some reason, it only started today, I can't load video from tenplay unless i disable ublock origin. As soon as the play button appears I turn it back on, and if I'm quick enough can beat the 1st ad. It's annoying me. Anyone else experiencing this, and anyone have a work around

  • Use ublock instead.

  • +1

    Finally fixed this, just revert ublock origin to default settings.

  • I just tried restoring default settings after days of annoyance at sitting through ads on 10play (or getting the video not found, an unexpected error has occurred message when enabled), and no longer being able to jump to a particular point in a show even with uBlock disabled (it just starts at the beginning of whatever segment I try to jump part way into). I was overjoyed when the first new show I tried actually worked with Ublock enabled, and I could once again jump to any point in the episode. I then started checking the other catchup websites 9now and 7plus, and they also worked despite no longer having any filters that previously were needed to get uBlock to work with them (I kept a copy of them in case I needed to recreate them). However, when I then went back to another show on 10play that I had been watching earlier and paused, it got the same error message and refused to play. After that, the other episode I tried which had initially worked, no longer did so, and I got the usual error message. I was so disappointed and frustrated to have my hopes dashed of an easy solution, but am now back to square one with 10play at least.

    joeyjo, have you had the same issue with your fix, or does it still work for you and maybe something else is happening on my computer? I really want to find a solution which works, and haven't found anywhere else so far that even mentions this recent problem…For me it seemed to coincide with the latest chrome update a few days ago, but also doesn't work any more on firefox, so I don't know what caused this issue.
