    Great find, also possible 6% Cashback with CR makes it even better :)

    • The coupon is listed on cashrewards so the cashback should be paid.

  • Also, buy any 2 cases from their catalogue (https://www.cellarmasters.com.au/catalogue) and you get free delivery.

  • Max number of cards enrolled for Amex one if you have not done so already (I just tried)

  • Thanks Op !

    it's usually hard to spend $200+ @ Cellarmasters.
    Nabbed a box of Pirie & a slab of crownies for $111 - whatever CR will be
    woohoo footy grand finals sorted.

    • I cannot seem to find beer on the website. Where did you find that?

      • +2

        i think I grabbed the last crownie….sorry

    • Be careful with their beers, a lot of them are short dated!! had that issue before, and will never buy beer from them again

      • Won't matter as they've pulled the 2 of them (crownies and coronas) off their website now..

      • 10 days to the Festival of the boot, all I ask is it lasts that long :-)

        the normal price of $55/slab I'm not surprised they don't fly off the shelves.

      • Last time I got beer with my click n collect order the guy grabbed it from the BWS floor stock.

  • grey label under $20 a good deal

    • Was deciding between the grey label or the limestone ridge - went with the latter for now, but might have to grab both.

  • if C&C…

    Fk wine, where da whisky at

  • Omg, I just bought it yesterday but with voucher 50$ off.

    Total value is 209 - 50$ voucher - 20$ Amex = 139$

    With this one : 209 - 100$ = 109$ (you can pay buy Woolies egift card as well) so 109-5$ = 104$ actually not mentioning about cashreward

    Still so good with Amex, now if you add something 20$ which is not possible (cheapest is 60$) so better choose your total value is 220$

  • Can someone give a strong recommendation for an available wine please?
    Is split payment AMEX/Woolies gift card possible?

    • +1

      Yes you can use split payment, I did use Woolies egift card yesterday and it works. For Amex, it doesn't have to be in 1 transaction.

    If you're looking for something cheap to bring you over the $200 (or $220) threshold, you can get a decanter ($20) or sparkling water case ($30):

    https://www.cellarmasters.com.au/wine?sort=pa&ps=15

    • wow, that's like $3.33/lt for water!

      But the decanter is a good prezzy.

      • +1

        Or $2.50 for a glass bottle with a bonus free .75 litres of water :P

  • CellarMasters Red Wine of 2017. $16.66 per bottle.
    https://www.cellarmasters.com.au/red/shiraz/wine/reynella-li…

    Edit: $14.41 if combined with CR (6%) and Wish card (5%).

    https://www.cellarmasters.com.au/mixgift - $110 cases that perfectly fits into code+amex , ending up $104.5 for 20 bottles + 2 premium bottles values $40 each (in CM money, of course :) )

  • gray label out of stock

  • Ended up with 23 bottles for $100 once cashrewards kicks in.

    Very nicely done.

  • Anyone know a decent case of Shiraz listed in the $220-$300 range?

    It's remarkably hard work buying decent wines from cellarmasters! The primary issue is that they do not have a broad selection, rather it looks like just whatever particular wineries (probably those associated with Woolies) have as excess stock. So you cannot just look for your favorite wines, or even most famous wines, because they almost certainly won't have them.

    So how do you evaluate the quality of wines you have never tasted? Either you use a end-user ratings (such as vivino), or expert ratings (such as those on wine-searcher). Personally I like vivino (if there are enough user ratings, say more than 10) - definitely has its flaws, but much better than nothing. As a general guide, things 3.8 or above are pretty decent, and 4.0 or above is a very high score. I try to avoid anything much lower than 3.6 or 3.7, irrespective of price, and since I've done this I've yet to buy a bad wine. Expert ratings are helpful as a check to verify that user ratings are in the right ballpark. I tend to ignore the retailer's wine review notes (these make everything sound wonderful), and I'm dubious about user ratings on a retailer's site (too much temptation to remove or hide bad reviews + usually too few reviews to be useful).

    With that in mind, and a wife who prefers Cabernet Sauvignon, I've just been through most of the cab savs they have listed, and fair few of the red wine mixes, and there's a lot of mediocre stuff there.

    For example, here's how some of the red wine mixes rated:
    * the "10 Bottle Sensational Shiraz" averaged out at 3.52 out of 5.0
    * the "10 Bottle Classic Cabernet" averaged out at 3.45 out of 5.0
    * the "10 Bottle Regional Cabernet" averaged out at 3.4 out of 5.0
    * the "Rothbury And Pals Reds" averaged out at 3.02 out of 5.0

    Those are all a "no thanks", as far as I'm concerned. When it comes to buying wine, I'm going for decent quality and a reasonable price. Understand that others might be happy with lower ratings in exchange for higher quantity, and that's fine, everyone has to decide for themselves what they're looking for.

    One of the few that I found that looked reasonable, and that I purchased, was:

    Hanging Rock Winery Bendigo Cabernet Sauvignon 2014:
    * gets 4.0 on vivino with 15 ratings: https://www.vivino.com/wineries/hanging-rock-winery/wines/be…
    * aggregated critics score of 88/100: https://www.wine-searcher.com/find/hanging+rock+cab+sauv+ben…
    * $209.88 for 12 bottles: https://www.cellarmasters.com.au/red/cabernet/wine/hanging-r…
    * Final price paid, after discounts and cashbacks = $209.88 - $100 discount + $1.20 handling fee * 0.95 for egift card * 0.94 for cashrewards = ( 209.88 - 100 + 1.20 ) * 0.95 *0.94 ~= 99.20, so around $8.20 per bottle.

    Thank you for this offer I chose a mixed case of 12 for $79 then was offered bonus cases at a discount so added 2 more cases of 12 at $69 each. Handling was $1.20 per case making the total $220.60. Minus $100 using the code above, the $20 Amex cash back and 6% cashrewards of around $7 then divide the net cost of about $93.60 over 36 bottles makes each bottle about $2.60. Not too bad. I've been happy with around 9 out of 10 bottles in the past so I think this is a very good offer. Yes it's generic wine but it's not too bad. The wine is better than cheap cask wine.

  • Thanks so much OP. Managed to score myself the Penfolds Bin 389 2014. At 65 RRP on the site (79 at Dans!) it worked out to be - 65x6: 390-100(AGL): 290-20(Amex): 270*0.94(CR): 253.8 = $42.3 per bottle!
