A friend of mine visited MYER Macquarie Centre to get Bose QC 35.
He has been told Bose had stopped production of these headphones (and hence the low stock across stores) as there going to be a new model replacing this in couple of months.
Would any of you have more info to confirm/dismiss this?

Yep - confirmed, I asked at VideoPro and this model has been discontinued for a new model very shortly. Google it and you will see that Bose leaked a new version recently.
looks like it is scheduled for Oct 4 (edit: actually nfi, Oct 4 according to knowyourmobile, 9to5google says Sep 22 - US dates), addition of google assistant

the reviews have been fairly good at a quick skim a while ago.
I'm not sure if it was "the verge" i was reading (Web site) that i read the article about the cancellation a while ago and had an overview of the new ones
