HTC Vive

Looking for a sub $1000 HTC Vive. Hoping for a good deal during 20% off sales. RRP from Vive Australia is $999 so anything under that should be sweet

  • Windows Mixed Reality are releasing soon starting with Dell Visor $469 USD RRP (includes everything for room and controller tracking) mid October … I'd wait and see how those pan out and what they do to prices. On paper the specs look better than Vive (1440x1440 90Hz each eye) and it looks a lot more comfortable to wear as well.

Products from Acer and Lenovo are also due shortly.

    • I've looked into the Dell and Acer ones and I don't think they look as good. The only consideration I have in waiting is that the Vive Knuckled will hopefully be released soon. They look bloody fantastic

  • I've been digging myself for a deal on a vive man,

Nothing in Australia under $1000 at the moment, even when the 18% off eBay wide starts tonight. A lot of sellers on eBay have sold out of the vive from previous sales and haven't restocked or have unlisted them. The ones remaining are $1300+ So you are just better off getting from HTC direct.

    • Yeah unfortunately Microsoft eBay store used to have them and sold out. They've had them as low at $900 AUD. US retailers can send them to aus for about $850AUD but I'd rather buy local

I heard Vive will be using cloud technology so that you don't need a fast pc…

    • +1

Would need extremely fast net - faster than nearly everything here in Aus..

      Would be interesting though.

    • Lolwhat? What part of cloud technology could it ever use? The processing power is done by your CPU and graphics card, which couldn't be done in the cloud without huge latency.

  • Hi,

Just got for $860 ish, delivered.

USE PLUG20 for 20% (excludes delivery which was $60 to Melbourne)
