  • If it's not used for gaming, what's it struggling with?

  • a used Radeon 6850 would go for $40, 7870 maybe $50, GTX 750 Ti perhaps $60

GT 1030 would go for $90 on eBay if there's a code.

though to be honest you could just use your iGPU, that's fine for non-gaming use.

  • Screen is flickering on occasion, videos freezing. Quite strange. Dont think its a driver issue.

Was clogged with dust the other day which has since been sorted and still doing it on occasion.

    • I don't get how you're using a Intel i5 2500 CPU with an Asus M4A87TD motherboard. That's Intel and AMD parts together…

Intel systems generally have iGPU. I would try removing the video card and then running your system using integrated graphics to troubleshoot.

      • You're right, I did upgrade, copied old info when i had the amd

        Current is Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3

    • Does it say your display adaptor recovered from an error?

  • Something feels screwy here.

  • Could try (through the AMD settings) turning down the core and memory clocks maybe ~10-15%. Fixed the occasional crashing/tearing I had with my old 5770.

  • Ended up taking the card out and everything is working fine without it so must have been a card issue
Watching videos and general work all causing no issue without card so no point getting new one unless i start playing games again
