Where to Buy Raw Buckwheat Honey?

I have learned that Raw Buckwheat Honey is good for healing cough. Does anyone know where to get the Raw Buckwheat Honey? I have spend a long time googling, only a couple of places in Australia sell Buckwheat Honey but they are processed.

You may want to try asking in the https://forum.honeyflow.com/t/what-are-the-rules-and-regulat… forums

I would presume that food safety laws prevent most retailers from selling unprocessed honey as foodstuffs since it might harbor Clostridium botulinum spores, which wouldn't be great for you.

Strongly recommend visiting a doctor if you have an illness, rather than following strange / weird tips you read about on Facebook.

    • Thanks. My child has coughed so badly that she would vomit. She has seen 2 GPs. Both told us just give her panadol. Cough Syrup doesn't help either. I'm hoping to find something that could help relief her cough so that she could drink water without vomiting.

  • Surely by the time you order the honey online and it arrives a week later your child will be getting better? If they are not then I doubt that honey will be the answer.

    • This is not the first time she cough to vomit. It actually happens every couple of months so I thought it'd be good to have something at home just in case. Even the honey is not going to do anything, it certainly give her no harm - it is just honey.

  • Hoping your daughter gets well.

I've tried buckwheat- not raw and I could barely swallow it's such a strong flavour I'd never buy it again, might be why your having trouble sourcing it.

    • Thanks Bad Wolf. May I ask where did you get that from? I found buckwheat & Ironbark honey on eBay selling by a buckwheat farm. I guess it will taste a little bit better but I'd like to try the pure one to see how she goes with that.

      • Bought about 3 years ago from melita honey currently out of stock, they have good customer service (imho) if you email them they might be able to advise when the season for that honey is.

The postage is rather high as they use the auspost prepaid satchels 3&5kgs but we continue buying from these guys for their quality. orange blossom is our family's favourite.

        • Thanks again :)
