Auspost iOS App Parcel Redirection Issue

This is the first time I use Auspost app to redirect a parcel from my home address to my parcel collect address. However, the delivery address generated by the app after selecting the parcel collect address does not have the second line (the line after the parcel collect number, i.e. the street address of the post office). Now I can't change or redirect the address anymore. I contacted Auspost facebook yesterday, but they were not able to fix this street address issue

Is anybody here ever had the same issue and if the parcel will get delivered to parcel collect at the post office if the second line/street address is missing?

  • I haven't either, but it sounds like you have the tracking number so hopefully it won't be too bad, it also sounds like you were able to put in the parcel locker number? and suburb? So hopefully that should be enough for Australia Post to find and send the package to the right area. I'd think calling them might be a better option though then their facebook page?

    • Thanks trustnoone. Yes, I have the tracking number and it links to my Auspost MyDelivery account. When the new tracking number popped up for the first time, it gave an option to redirect to my saved parcel collect addresses, so it won't allow me to type the address manually. The redirected address has everything including the parcel collect number, suburb and post code, but no street address.

      • I'd be very surprised if they didn't send it to the correct place (esp with a post code). Since you have the tracking number as well and parcel locker number, I imagine it should be alright (though Aus post stuffs up perfect deliveries so who knows lol). I wonder if calling Aus Post will be able to get them to add the address?

Not sure if helpful but keep in mind changing the address changes to a parcel locker adds a few days to delivery. I changed it once (straight away from my chatswood house, to the chatswood parcel locker at the post office). And the package went from Victoria, to Chatswood post office, to Melrose park, then BACK to Chatswood post office which then got placed in a parcel locker. (Has happened 3 times so far)

I guess they don't redirect until it hits the main suburbs post office? But thought I'd tell you incase you get worried it hits your suburb, then leaves your suburb again.

        • Thanks for the info, very much appreciate it

  • You should be fine. Sometimes people miss the street address when they send me stuff I buy on ebay - it just ends up at the post office a little further away from me. Maybe find out all the post offices in your post code so you can have an idea where it might go.

  • If it is tracked you should be able to see where it is so it should be fine. And usually the numbers given with the parcel collect is unique to you and they should have your preferred parcel collect post office details but I am not 100% certain about it.
