Who Flies Singapore Airlines First Class and Goes on eBay to Sell The Pyjamas?

Just saw this pop up as a cross promotional item on eBay, which makes me wonder. What type of person would fly First Class with SIA and then go on eBay to sell the pyjamas?

Actually there's 5 people … ZOMG :D

EDIT2:
Time for a poll

I would pay $23k for a SIA First Class Cabin and sell the $50 pyjamas

I would be too busy feeding my pet Dodo bird caviar so wouldn't sell the pyjamas, or similar

I would buy LCC airline tickets instead and use the rest of the money on my drug addiction, or simil

LOL! As if anyone would risk losing a job which comes along with some pretty good perks … ie. almost free business class standby flights

      • If it is a international flight they get to sleep for a few hours so they could've just taken a set and slept in their undies…

        • like sleeping nekkid … but with undies on … type of sleep? …. plausible since the First Class cabin allows for complete 360 degree privacy …

        • @db2k: Ok bad example with the undies… But seriously,

Flight attendants work in shifts in flights over 8 hours. So each group gets a few hours off in a private rest area. I'm not sure if they could help themselves to some PJs but I'd imagine so. As long as they weren't taking like 10 pairs each shift the airline wouldn't notice or care.

        • @knick007: but but but … where would a flight attendant place such items??

        • @db2k: in their cabin bag?

        • @knick007: but but but … wouldn't they be scared? it would take ages … like take down bag, unzip bag, place inside bag, zip up bag, store away bag …

Maybe they lost the job already and are now selling all the collectibles from the years there.

Why not? Maybe the sellers won a comp to fly first class? Or maybe they're house cleaners of rich people and they were given the pj's by a client who flies all the time?

    • I like that creative thinking ;)

Someone that bought the flight using some sort of loyalty program points.

  • I sell my Qantas PJ's after every flight for about $50 a pop. They get snapped up pretty quickly. I don't wear them but they are mine to keep so I take them home and make a bit of money off it.

    • I never knew there was a market for that … you mean the grey QF logo ones? Do ppl buy because of the logo/QF or because it's Peter Alexander??

Is there a market for the VA all black pj's?

      EDIT:
yes, there seems to be a market for this kinda stuff :)

      • Yeah. There's definitely a market for airplane collectibles, especially among other frequent flyers. I can't stand their Facebook groups as I feel they are full of pretentious twats (Talk about people in Economy in only derogatory terms) but they are idiots that pay top dollar for stuff I get for free on my flights so I like to take advantage of them.

        • HA there's a fb group?! geez …

hmmm … see a whole lot of ppl selling, and not many buying … and those that have bought have paid around $10-15 …

  • I sell the free earphones you get on Jetstar economy class.

lol they aren't even worth taking off the plane, let alone selling!

You keep telling yourself that, less competition for me.

          Hahaha true for you.

I'd rather pay a few bucks and get a decent set. Even $10 got me an alright pair.

What is the problem? Every 385 pairs they sell they get enough for another flight. Simple math really….. hahahahaha
Now, I have a cushion from a Cattle Class train trip in Indonesia………

My wife and I gave our SIA F class PJ's and toiletries away to friends and family after my flights, but kept a pair of PJ's each . Was a points booking Tokyo-SIN-Sydney, so two sets of everything. I knew they could be sold online, but also knew the people we gave them to would appreciate them - the toiletry kits were Salvatore Ferragamo with a 30ml eau de toilette and everything.

I'm wondering what Thai Airways F class is gonna have next month! Might try selling the toiletry kit…

    • Which points program are you with and how many points are needed for the NRT-SIN-SYD leg?

      • I've got points in about 5-6 programs atm, but pretty sure I transferred points from Velocity to Kris for that. Was probably close to 280k VF points for two, I think it might cost more now. Saying 105k KF points NRT-SYD

        • Oh wow, 280k for First Class is really good!! Do you remember how much taxes were?

        • +1

@db2k: Just checked - 5,820 yen taxes/surcharges per person. These have come down (points required have risen - no online booking discount anymore) - my ticket booked 18mths ago had a 25,400 yen surcharge. Still worth it - just try where you can to get an A380 for suites class. The 777 planes have the 'regular' seat.
