Looking for ipad mini (wifi) for grandparents. Doesn't has to be latest model, i guess ipad mini 2 or so will do.

Dont get one they are not worth it now days while my ipad mini 4 is fine anything older is VERY laggy and hard to use.
I had an ipad mini 2 for less than a week before i sold it and bought an ipad mini 4 over a year ago.

Go for ipad 2017.

  WhatsApp requires a mobile number in order to use it which is why it's not on the iPad. I don't think you can have one number signed into two WhatsApp apps on two different devices.
