I found this book an epic read, full of murder, incest, misogyny, slavery and the lucid dreams of a madman right at the end. I do think it needs an R rating, there are some very adult themes within.

If you have not already read it, The Red Tent is an interesting book set in biblical times.

A non-fiction 'biography' of the decline of the city of Lancaster Ohio, looking at the factors that have impacted it (globalisation, drugs, tax base collapse, welfare reform, financial engineering, erosion of middle class and more). It is a bit grim at times, but instructive on how the decisions that politicians and masters of industry make can effect ordinary people.

  • Thank you. I'll check it out. I suppose if we learn from past mistakes we can prevent them from occurring in the future.

  • Wilbur Smiths River God. This is the 3rd time I've read it and i'm sure i'll read it again in another 5 years. Its an epic read.

    • Thanks, I looks like a good read, what's the thing you enjoy most about it?

  • Pop-economics and psychology books are great fun.

Personal choices Freakonomics, Blink, The De-Textbook and Six Easy Pieces.

Also factual magazines are often cheaper, easier to read and more fun.
