My eBay Account Has Been Suspended Any Advice

Hi, I recently had my eBay account suspended.

Is there anyone that can shed any light on why this has happened to anybody on here. What can I do to rectify or get my account back.
Can I open a new one? Is there any law that protects me and would allow me to continue to purchase they eBay.

All advice appreciated

A bit more context? How long have you been a member for? Have you bought anything or won any auctions and not pay? Have you been selling counterfeit/illegal items or services? Why do you think you have been suspended?

is there any law that protects me and would allow me to continue to purchase they ebay

    Are you serious?

Have you been shilling? Shill bidding will get your account suspended.

  • Member for 12 years reason was apparently rude to customer service agent in a call but on phone call with leadership team was told they didn't like the way I was trading I have paid for everything I buy always paypal and never sold anything

Only a buyer account? Start another.

      • Was told they have special software that will keep finding and closing my accounts

No. Start a new account using a VPN and a disposable sim and different details. Then just drop the VPN and change the details to what you want. I have a suspended account and still have 2 other seller accounts. Plus 2 buyer accounts.

        • @altomic: thank you very much

        • @altomic: what about delivery address

        • @ABUKEE: just use yours. But maix it up e.g. Smith street 42

          @altomic:
where is smith street 42? im standing at smith street 4

        • They are always getting deliveries at 42, I thought I should call the Terrorist Hotline, but now I know why I feel a lot better.

        • Clear your browser cookies to rid of all eBay related garbage, use a variation of your address, do not recycle phone numbers, try different OS/browser combination than the one you've used mostly with the banned account and possibly a change in PayPal account should also help.

I've found they speed things up in picking banned users far quicker is when you try to sell things. They appear to don't care if you're just buying stuff and not retract bids.

        • @altomic: How about paypal? Even if you have a different paypal address, I've been told that they can trace you with your bank account/credit card details??

        • @shockme79: you don't need to register CC/BA with paypal (at least the last time I set an account up). you only need them if you are wanting to buy crap (and hence need a source of funds). but if you just transfer money from your real paypal account to the new one then all good - that's your money source.

        • @altomic:

You just told PayPal what to look for now. ;)

This method of funding a stealth account isn't new. It's been used by dodgy members for more than a decade. PayPal knows all about it and what to look for. Some members may get away it depending on their ability to hide their identity.

There is more to this than being rude. Ebay isn't in the practice of suspending user id that is in good standings.

        EBay can be douches.

      • 100% positive feedback 174 score as a buyer I think I have spent close to 30k with them

100% positive feedback 174 score as a buyer

It's impossible for buyers to get neg fb.

Buyers don't get suspended unless there some serious policy violations.

        • @whooah1979: I see well hopefully they provide me that policy that was broken

          2 years ago I had a seller account that was suspended - 700 positive feedback @ 100%.

I had 2 small items go missing in the post and a defective cable within a month. so 3 transaction issues in a month out of 70 sales. it was above the "2% problem" rate.

          my account was was suspended.

the 2 items that went missing - i resent them and received positive feedback from the buyers - i.e. problem solved.

the defect cable - had given an immediate refund - positive feedback received.

I rang ebay and spoke to their "help" line twice. each time the phone person just read from a script.

ebay - "your account is above the defect rate and is below ebay standards and has been suspended"
me- "but the buyers left positive feedback as I solved the problem"
ebay - "your account is above the defect rate and is below ebay standards and has been suspended"

          (profanity) useless.

that really pissed me off with ebay.

seller fees for that account were about $120 outstanding. cancelled auto payment and removed all payment sources. amount is still outstanding 2 years later.

It's a lot easier to get a seller user id suspended than a buyer user id. Op states that their user id is used for purchases.

        • @whooah1979: yeah, just providing anecdotal evidence of how dumb ebay can be.

        • @altomic:
          Got it. :)

  • Why are you suspended?

    • They said they have to gather more information and then they will send me a official email stating the reason but that was supposedly going to be done yesterday

      • How does it go now? They should provide you with reasons when they suspend you, not the other way around.

        • After requesting my official reason in writing for suspension and requests of policy's broken they seem to be ignoring me and all of a sudden the ebay is working again ??

        • @ABUKEE:
Well, at least it's working again so it's good news.

        • @citygal: it is I suppose but what made them reconsider was it my determination to pursue the matter or they just realised there wrong

        • @ABUKEE:
I'm not sure really. As long as it's working just don't worry about it anymore :)
