Running outside is free - now that is a bargain. Being in nature is also much more therapeutic then being stuck indoors on a treadmill.

You probably want good quality shoes more than anything for the cushioning, for what you'd spend on a decent treadmill you can probably pick up a couple of years membership at your local gym - that's the route I'd be taking.

  • I have recently just sold my treadmill as I moved into a much smaller place and don't have room for it.
I found it great because I could do the distance I wanted without having to dodge traffic, footpaths, hills etc etc etc. Due to my RS knees I can only manage walking on flat surfaces. I could get on my treadmill in my PJs :) yaaaaayyyyyy!!! No driving to the gym or buying/needing gym gear. Definately worth it if you use it. Like gym memberships it can be a waste if not utilised. I found a great one on ebay (a local seller) - there are many peeps who buy them and just don't use them, so they sell.

    • This is same as my situation. I bought the most basic one during the 20% ebay sale. I use it for 20-30 minutes brisk walk everyday. Probably one year gym membership cost. I usually reach home late so not in a great mood to run outside. If you use it, its great investment for your help.
