Aussie Farmers Constant Calls

About a week ago there was a promo code as most of us know that Aussie farmers had a $50 voucher which I claimed, but it's been twice already that they called me and said I need to pay them $62

I believe that something at their end might have went wrong, I ordered that meat pack which was $47 and free shipping since it's over $25 but later that went up to $52 even after when I already completed that order, prob shipping got added. I have never heard of a company that would post something without even getting the payment first, should I Ingore it?

    Aussie Farmers Constant Calls.

The company are full of scam artists.

Last time I cancelled an order, they still delivered the order and refused to give me a refund as they stated it was my mistake.

Little did they know I recorded my cancellation of the order and so I reported them to the ACCC.

    • Hey I'm dealing with a similar situation, can you give any more details?

  • I just changed my phone number in my account hopefully it will solve itself

  • I had a similar issue. Apparently the phone conversation is enough to enter you into a legal binding contract. The $40 p/w I tried cancelling with no success; so I blocked their payment and was charged a $20 dishonour fee everything they tried charing the account, it came to $110 in the end.

Key Point: They cannot legally chase you with debt collectors for any amount under $150.00. I told them that, and they never called back again.

    • I remember few years ago I was sent several final notice letters from Laverty Pathology asking me to pay $6x for my blood test, threatening to send debt collectors to chase the money. It's under $150 but eventually I got a letter from a solicitor appointed by them saying that they're gonna sue me and send debt collectors over $6x unless I pay immediately, even I explained many times with endless phone calls saying my insurance company already paid it in full ages ago. So I'm not sure whether they can legally chase you for amount under $150.

  • Merged from Demanding Payment Letter from Aussie Farmers Direct

Just received a letter from Aussie farmers direct for final payment request for $84, some Ozbaraginers have mentioned debt collectors can’t do anything unless the amount is over $150. These guys sent something when my card had no credit, what kind of business posts something before payment and demands payment, I don’t see how that is my fault, should I just toss and further ignore the letter? What do you guys think.

    • why did you owe them money? shouldn't you pay up and not avoid it.

    • There was a code that I used which shouldn’t have needed to pay extra, I choose the wrong item, changed it accordingly but some reason they still sent me the wrong box.

This was like more than a few months ago as well.

      • Did you notify them that you had received the wrong box and requested they come and collect it? You, technically, ordered what they sent you - even if you did fix it up before it was sent. If you did contact them and they did nothing about it then that is different. I doubt they will chase this debt but I would, at least, tell them you should only be charged for what you ordered. I hope you still have the history of what you ordered somewhere.

    • These guys didn't honour a coupon cope that was posted on OzBargain and instead sent me a box and charged me the full price. Still have to get a refund somehow from this shady organisation.

    • debt collectors can’t do anything unless the amount is over $150

it can't be listed on your credit history for such a small amount, the amount owing can be increased by interest/fees/etc. it doesn't stop a debt collector chasing you for the money

what kind of business posts something before payment and demands payment

      Lots of businesses

      I choose the wrong item

so you are at least partially responsible for the charges. How did they respond when you contacted them to discuss the matter?

    • You submitted payment (eg PayPal) and could see the charge was wrong, if you were paying attention.
You will have received a couple of emails listing all ordered items clearly, before they are delivered. What is listed in them Devok? You could have called them before delivery to correct their mistake.

Solution? More than likely you forgot to actually submit the order changes in your cart, am I right? This is easy to do, I've done it twice, but 100% your responsibility.

Summary: Pay up if it's you're mistake, I assume it's your fault, and get used to their awkward but useful order system. Their franchises are likely going to be around a long time so no point in getting banned.

      Best wishes ;-)

    • don't pay you will regret it. Start writing meaningless letters that are merely a tactic to stall the process until you are placed in the too hard basket and eventually your account will be written off. Also don't feel bad their products would cost a 10th of what they sell it for

Are farmers direct paying off the OzBargain moderators or something? Merging a new, relevant thread with a 4 month old thread to hide it, pathetic.
