Help Dealing with Belong, They Disconnect My Internet and Phone Line and Not Be Able to Connect Their Service

About 3 weeks ago I have signed a contract for switching my Internet Provider from Exetel to Belong.
They have send a modem and I was waiting for technician to show up and setup belong service. Since their technician try to connect my internet to belong, my old service was disconnected (I have 30 day notice period with the previous supplier).
I have to call them after few days and asked for activation SMS, which they telling me that they are not be able to supply the internet to my home as their is no port available on their Junction box and asked me to send back their modem.
I call them again and asked them to back and fix my phone line and Internet, They are accepting that is 99.9% their fault but their is no way on their system to send an electrician to fix this issue.
Previous supplier is going to charge me $250 to fix this issue.
Appreciate if you guys know any way to resolve this issue.

  • 250 ?

just keep the modem, notify your credit card company to block any debit from belong

signup with any other telco without application fee

    not buzz telco please.

  • Wait, so their technician destroyed your existing connection to the point where someone has to come and repair it?

Otherwise I'm unsure what the $250 is for.

Was this a switch from ADSL to NBN or just an ISP change?

    • I was with previous supplier for 8 Years but they are not change my plan during all these years, I was going to change my service provider.
It was not change between ADSL to NBN , was between different ISP.
Exetel is going to supply the technician to check the connection and if is my fault then thy are going to charge $250.

      • check what connection ?

it's like applying for new connection… no 250 bullshit

just apply new account or go with other ISP

        • ISP's like sending technicians around for no reason to make money. $250 to plug a modem in.

  • Hey, at least they're just inept idiots. If it was Telstra they'd wait until you disconnected and then inform you that you now have to pay more than you agreed to.

  • Thanks Guys,
I've decided to keep the Modem , But Wondering if they can do any legal action against me?

  • Ive dealt with them before. heres my 2 cents from what I know from their CSS.
    1. keeping your modem- they wont pursue you with any further action. i have two from them.
    2. Their service is horrid as they are a subsidiary for Telstra (iirc).
    3. They use telstra line and only is allocated a portion of it - meaning if there are any congestion in the area; youre going to suffer more.
    4. Call their cus support, get email address for any escalation / complaint dept. They gave me 50% of my 6 months bill back.

  • Hi everyone, thanks for all reply.
I have received a call from Blongs complain team yesterday, she was referring to the TIO referees And was wondering why I lodged a case in TIO????!!!!!!!
I had to tell her the whole story again, and she was suprised about the customer service response.
She offered to pay 100% of my previous supplier invoice if they change me, also any expenses that it caused by this issue.
The only things she mentioned is that I had to send the modem back , otherwise they will take legal action.

  • shit happens. some areas have limited ports just get a connected pstn line fist and go on the waiting list for adsl.
