Where to Buy Replacement Dell Laptop Keyboard (VIC)

Hi,

Some keys on my Dell laptop have stopped working. I have tried to reset the keyboard cable, but no luck. I think I need a new keyboard. I've had a look at ebay and I can get one for $19 from overseas; but they'll take upto mid October to get here.

Does anyone know any local Vic shops where I can pop in and get the keyboard for about $25 - $30? Staticice has not been very useful. I can use an external USB keyboard at the moment; but am flying to BNE on Tuesday and don't want to carry an external keyboard with me. Actually, if there is a shop in BNE I can get the keyboard, that might be acceptable as well.

Cheers,
MrHyde

Edit* - Laptop model number is Inspiron 15 3000 Series (#3542)
Edit** - Found a place in Reservior (Broadway Computers) that has them for $35. Unfortunately closed today, might have to see if I can get it tomorrow.

  • Could you get a 2nd hand one to tide you over til the eBay one arrives?

If it's $19 on eBay overseas you're going to have a very hard time finding it locally for $25.

Maybe edit your post to include the model number of the laptop.

what about a bluetooth/dongle small keyboard. target sells them for ~$15 (at least did sell them - don't know if they still do). it's a regular keyboard but laptop size. and wireless. so it looks "techy"

    • That could be a nice temporary option. Thanks for the idea.

  • if you want the cheapest then Aliexpress has them for US$8.94 delivered - english+ russian keyboard

or just English for US$10.80 delivered

  • How about a foldable/ultra compact kb?

  • http://au-pc-part.com/ This is where my work sources most their replacement keyboards from. It's express shipping, usually free (depending on product).

Edit: Also various other suppliers, but they usually get them in by order. The above is the main one if we need some quick and/or cheap bulk stock.
