Not sure if this belongs here or is a bargain (or is neither!) but…
Betfair are currently running a promotion where if you are referred by a friend, and you place bets totalling $50, when they are matched you and your 'friend' are credited with a $100 each. I am usually skeptical of these promotions as there is usually a condition attached that you then need to turn the credited amount over x number of times before you can withdraw it (so the odds are you won't).
The difference with this one is that there is no restriction on withdrawing the $100 immediately, meaning even if you lose your deposited $50 in bets you can withdraw the $100 immediately.

A few things to keep in mind:
You must be a new member
If you deposit using credit card they take a 1.5% fee, so deposit $51 instead of $50 so you can bet the full $50.
The bet has to settle (ie end) before you are credited. If you want the credit straight away bet it on an event ending soon.

When I did mine, I noticed that they put the credit card transaction as a CASH ADVANCE and it is PROCESSED IN THE UK.
Credit cards usually have additional fees for international cash advances (I got hit with a $5.95 fee), cash advances usually attract a higher interest rate (more risk) and they do not usualyl qualify for the interest free period on most credit cards.
This is in addition to the 1.5% processing fee Betfair charges.
If all you are doing is to get the $100, just use the bank transfer option (they have a local bank account). It's free, just takes a couple of days longer.
