Refund from Domino's

Hi just want to share it.

I bought 2 meat lovers on 17 September, however one of them has pineapple (even it's not meant to be there), and it tasted off. I called the store and manager informed that I can come back to store to get two free pizza even the issue was only for 1 pizza. I went there again in few days and get the free pizzas.

To my surprise today in about an hour ago I got refund from Domino's for that order.

I confuse as not expecting any refund, but I guess this is something about their promises on customer service to replace and refund in the case of customer issue? http://www.news.com.au/finance/small-business/biggest-compla…

Good thing I paid with PayPal I guess. Thank you Domino's.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. PayPal it is from now on.

  • Btw does PayPal have any extra fees when paying for goods and services from domino's, eBay or other online merchants? I remember reading somewhere about PayPal extra fees a long time ago but not sure if they still exist. I guess I should include Amazon, Kogan and some other common Australian and international retail stores too to ask if they have any hidden extra payment or transaction fees?

I currently still only use my Westpac debit MasterCard visa for all online purchases in lieu of PayPal but have started using PayPal for things like eBay, gearbest, banggood and Amazon and etc.

    • PayPal fees apply to merchant, not customer. High volume sellers pay around 1.5% of the amount, while casual pays around 2.5%. Don't confuse this with surcharges as Dominos does have surcharges for Sundays and public holidays.

I'm checking my PayPal receipt though based on today's price, not sure why the numbers was wrong. I paid $8.97 for a meat lover after 40% discounted from? $14.95? Domino's price at the moment is $13.95 and yes I didn't add toppings. 40% of $13.95 is $8.37.

Remember to use credit card like 28 Degrees to save approx 3% of international fees and choose US dollars in Amazon and card currency (not PayPal currency) for eBay for better currency rate.

  • I use PayPal as well wherever possible if it doesn't incur any fees because it's linked to my Earth Black Amex (free for life) which gets me Qantas points (Also free). Every cent and point counts.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • I had a dud pizza once. when I picked up my order they explained that it was bad and were cooking another one. and then gave me the dud( looked fine, tasted fine) and then gave me the replacement for free. the other 2 pizzas had been bought at 40% off and a redeemed a loyalty card at the same time to get one of them free. and they threw in a 1.25ltr as well.

      Good customer service

  • I've had plenty of pizzas in my time and without a doubt the best pizza I've ever had was one from Doninos a few weeks ago which was pretty bloody surprising!

I'm surprised their competition could register a name that's almost exact

We have a clown in the house! haha

  • Absolutely 100%. You always, always keep the customer happy. Great to see a manager with some common sense using their initiative.

  • Dominos are pretty good in this regard they have good customer service and policies like aldi with their very lenient refund policies.

It sucks for me though personally that I am starting to get sick of them.. hard though to deviate as there isn't much for me to choose from in my area unless I want to go for an hour train ride.

It's weird to say this but I wish more fast food restaurants had good delivery maybe when automated delivery systems become more fast food related we shall have more widespread food delivery areas and options but for now I only really have a few options unless I want to spend a fortune.

Sucks living in a semi remote area like the blue mountains I can't imagine if I were somewhere even more expalated.
