Ever wanted to go to Mars? Then you have the chance now … at least your name.
From the press:
"Who ever wanted to fly to Mars , can now at least send his name on a website (https://mars.nasa.gov/syn / insight) of the US space agency Nasa , one can enter first and last names by November 1st, and then receive a kind of virtual "boarding pass."

The names come then by microchip aboard the Mars-lander "InSight" will be on the way to the Red Planet next May, as Nasa reported on Wednesday. "

    So potentially giving my name and country of residence to aliens so they can find me easier? I don't think so Jim. Gotta be careful - don't know who you can trust (no one). My foil hat is staying firmly on my head.

      Not many people know, the USA had been trying to keep it quiet, but there is more than one planet in that orbit. Mar is just the first one.

    NASA should scrap the rovers and just give it's money to Elon Musk, why spend a billion to send a rover when the BFR could take it in 2022.

    I signed up for this over two years ago and departure was 04 Mar 2016 and I am still waiting for take off. Booked a windows seat and all! I am eager for the Aliens to get my name and visit me here on Earth. My Welcome Banner is getting dusty though and not so sure this May 2018 departure will occur. If this gets delayed again I am putting in for (waiting around) compensation :-)
