GoPro5 leak

Hi people i am only posting here since i used this site to purchase my gopro from the 20% sale the goodguys ebay store had about a year ago.

So i contacted gopro about a leak my unit had and after providing them the ebay receipt and serial number, i got an email that they wouldnt be replacing my gopro since they checked the receipt and said that i didnt buy it from an authorized reseller the only option they gave me is sending the unit back and they will give me a 40% discount for the gopro6,gp5 and gp5 black.

What should i do?

    Contact the good guys,ask them if they are an authorized reseller. Try to get warranty from the good guys.

    Then contact gopro and tell them if they refuse warranty you will report them to fair trading. If the item is in warranty, then standard consumer laws protect you irrelevant of if the retailer is an authorized reseller or not. The law always trumps company policy.

    Pretty sure TGG are an authorised dealer; if they are selling via eBay then you're covered.

    The only out GoPro might have is if they claim you didn't check the seals properly before use or something, but I think it's hard for them to prove negligence on your part.

    No you didn't! You might have found the site from here ;)

    You would have received an invoice from the good guys, not just the payment receipt from eBay. Make sure you supply that to GoPro.

    I hate it when companies like GoPro screw over people like OP. I would get the representative from GoPros name and details so you can report to ACCC and get them on the list of shoddy businesses…

    In other news, GoPro 6 already? WOW… but its almost $800!
