Set of 4 Pirelli Cinturato P6 215/60R16 99V $420 at Tyreright - $400 Pricebeat KTAS Fitted and Balanced

110

Time to replace tyres on my old Camry so started looking around for good bargains…came across this deal and gave a call to my local KTAS and the guy on the phone was happy to price beat after verifying the price on the internet. The $400 quote comes with fitting and balancing included! I went with Yokohama Blue Earths last time but had pretty disappointing experience and the front treads are below legal in just over 25,000 Kms! Hope this helps someone.

  • I've got a Subaru Forester with wheels of 215/65/16 and the price online is coming up at $185 a tyre! Amazing the difference between the two. Don't think anyone would price match a price this for what my Subi needs would they?

lower ride, good for looks and stability

  • Tyre companies certainly play silly buggers with prices sometimes - it's incredibly common to see the exact same tyre model where a smaller tyre will be significantly more expensive than a larger one.

I've really no idea why as surely the material and transportation costs for the larger one would always be higher - hence other than specials you'd always expect the smaller version of the same model tyre to either cost the same or less. Go figure.

You don't think that maybe sales play a role in this? A tyre produced that is in an unusual size compared to a tyre that is used on many vehicles is of course going to be a different price as the costs are spread across many more tyres.

thanks for posting! i checked their website and bought a pair of hankook rs4 in 285/35/18. $159 each is crazy.

Looking up on two tyre models for my Mazda 3 in 225/45R18 size. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003, both $279 each. Ouch :(

If you want quality its gonna cost, had the re003's on my golf the best tyre I've ever had. Holds traction in the wet like a rexxy would. Great tyre

Would you rather have a high performance tyre and avoid an accident or have a poor performing tyre? The only thing that connects you to the road is four small patches of rubber.

Look on eBay or for sellers who parallel import as you can save this way but check manufacturing place and date before buying as tyres for some markets are using different compounds and a tyre that is a year old has a big decrease in performance over one a few months old.

      • The point is those two brands in different and more common sizes can be nearly $100 cheaper each.
I will just have to wait for one of those 4 tyres for the price of 3 deal to come up later. More likely to happen with Bridgestone as Michelin has been stingy for past few years.

    • Once you get good tyres like the Pilot Sport 4 on, you will wonder why you even bothered with anything less.

  • I actually have this tyre on my car at the moment. No idea if it's just coincidence, but after driving on them for maybe 10,000 I had to replace one as it had a tyre bulge. Now one of the others also has a tyre bulge. Could've been me running over a kerb or something? Not that I remember doing that.

    • Sounds like you bumped the kerb a little too hard

      • Yeah I was thinking the kerb was a possibility!
Strange thing is the latest one is on the right, so no idea about that one :P

        • +1

You should be able to know for sure, it would of felt like a kick in the arse. 9/10 tyre bulging is from driver error not manufacturer

        • @bti_jet: pot holes can do it too.

    • Thanks for the bulge-ahead warning mate! I have only got me booked but haven't actually had the tyres yet…will ask around (basically googling) to see if I need to reconsider!

      • +1

Sorry for deterring you, it is actually a very good price.
And like bti_jet said, it could just be someone (but not me haha :P ) running into the kerb or something stupid.
I just thought it was odd as I'd never had bulges happen to me before, let alone 2 in the space of a few months.

Thanks for checking us out. Next time, do us a favour and talk to KTAS first and give us the chance to beat their price, yeah? ;)
Here's our price guarantee, just for reference. https://www.tyreright.com.au/brands/tyreright-price-guaranteā€¦

Your guarantee says that it needs to be an advertised price only. It is a price beat with you so they are beating your price so it is not an advertised price, unless they go to the effort of getting a written quote.

I never really understand why companies promote their ability to price match, I would rather give my money to the business that is price beating in order to encourage that type of competitive behaviour.

Although I understand there is some merit in a company price matching any other companies cheaper price in Australia, for when there is a better price in say Melbourne and I am in Perth. However in this instance KTAS are all over the place so that type of restriction does not apply.

      • Its true, in the end the competition not getting the sale closes, and youre left with the store that has generally higher prices.

No worries…looks like user phillay bought something from your website just because I checked you out!…I will try and do another favor in the future though :)

Kmart also offer free wheel balancing, rotations and pressure check for 50,000km when you buy 2 or more

And in my experience, they are one of the few that you have a good experience with when asking to price beat :)
