Best 2ch Dash Cam for Kia Carnival?

I am currently looking for a front and back camera to protect my new car.

I have looked at the thinkware f770 2ch and the Blackvue Dr650s2ch.

Can anyone recommend any other models that will give better footage than the f770?

  • Can anyone recommend any other models that will give better footage than the f770?

f770 is a good dual lens dash cam. if you're on a budget then go with a 2ch a119s. one in the front and one in the rear.

  • that will give better footage than the f770

Thinkware released the F800 at the middle of this year, which supersedes the F770 as its flagship dashcam model.

    • How many dollars is that unit? (Looks expensive going by the link :) )

Never mind, looks around the $600 mark.

  • Currently running the latest Blackvue Dr750s2ch.

    Loving it.

Was particularly worried about night time footage as I drive a lot at night.

  • @OP What did you end up with?

    I am considering buying a F800PRO myself.

  • Also curious - are these ones that record when your car is parked/off etc?

    • Yes, both do parking mode. As far as I know though, you need an extra module for the BlackVue (PowerMagic Pro) to do parking mode hard wiring.

For Thinkware, all you need is the hardware cable kit, it’s controlled via the unit. I have an F770, would suggest the F800 if you can pay the extra.

    • The Blackvue will work via parking mode if the magic pro module is hardwired to casr. It then uses the car battery to keep going and will only switch off when the battery voltage gets to a set point. A point set so you arent left with a flat battery and cant start your car. There is also a battery module which gives your a certain amount of power on to make camera work and not use the car battery. Believe it then gets charged up again when you drive.

The paring mode will eventually shorten the life of your car battery as its taking extra drain from the battery. You need to be driving your car for a distance to ensure your car battery is well maintained with power.
