Viofo A119C Resets Itself - What Is The Problem?

I bought a VIOFO A119 in one of the deals a few weeks ago and everything worked like a charm until a week ago. The camera keeps resetting its settings and I have no idea why. Every time it turns on it's back to the default settings of low frame rate, annoying beeping sound, etc. And ideas?

EDIT:
I'm posting an update, just in case anyone else runs into this problem in the future. Basically, the GPS module is a dud. They apparently redesigned it in later models (A119S) but there's some serious connectivity issues between the GPS and the recording unit. There are many possible workarounds online, but almost all of them focus on eliminating the gap between the GPS and the camera. Some used Velcro, some zip-ties, some tape and other creative solutions. Definitely a hardware issue though.

Greetings from China! I work in the Viofo factory and solution for you!
RTC battery in your camera may not be a charge. This meanse time and date no work. Keep powering camera over a few more drives and battery will hopefully recharge. However, warning to you. All other settings are stored on internal memory so me think this may not be your only problem. Best wishes!

  • Thanks for replaying hell0. So what does it mean? The internal memory is full? How can it be fixed?

    • Hell0! No, keep device power-in for few more drives to make sure internal setting-battery is properly condition and keeps charge. If no change you may have to seek help from Viofo tech-support forums!

    • Where exactly is the camera's power coming from? I had this problem because i was powering it with a shitty 12v->usb power that was crap.

could you please elaborate? where did you get the charger from and what is crap about it?

  • I had the same problem, I had it replaced.

    • Who did you buy it from? That's concerning.

      • ebay, it was good service though.

I have a feeling early A119C batches were faulty this way.

  • They apparently redesigned it in later models (A119S)

There is also the A119 v2 with the new style connections.

That said, I have had a v1 for some time now and haven't had any connection issues, so it was hit n miss.
