On the lookout for low cost broadband plans

My expensive and high cost broadband bills are driving me up the wall. Just wanted to know if there are any cheaper broadband deals out there which have a 100 to 200 GB limit. (also are there any ones without shaping or minus the hidden terms and conditions?)
Currently i am paying something in the region of 70 dollars..(sheesh!!), so a reduction would be appreciated.

Check Whirlpool Broadband Choice, it'll tell you the best plans available in your area within 30 seconds.

Dodo actually have an unlimited ADSL 2+ for just $39.90 p/m. It is unlimited in the true sense of the word and there are no hidden catches. you just need to bundle your home phone with them and you would be eligible to apply as long as Optus is available in you area, as they offer these plans through optus network only. You can just take up a basic hp plan if you are not a heavy home phone user and you would pay around $70 for the bundle..I saw their plans at http://www.cheapbroadbandplans.com.au/. I am sure you would be currently paying about the $100 mark for you home phone and 200GB, so you would be saving $30 already with unlimited internet usage.

That does not compare to TPG or any of the cheap providors who are offering 29.90 pm unlimited as well or instead of your 39.90

Ps there is no true sense of the word , read the contract and it will be fair usage policy usually exceeing 1/4 of your downloads in uploads

Also Dodo are the worst ISP in Australia seriously, if they ventured out i am sure they could conquer the world with their lack of coverage and service and be the worst in the world!

      • which make me wonder how do they keep surviving..

        • Has to be something dodgy going there

TPG is my vote. ok service. but good value

TPG is the way to go

If you go with TPG, you will probably experience a lot of dropouts and connection issues within the first few weeks.

This is quite normal, most people experience this and usually need to go to the TPG Whirlpool forums to get it sorted out with a Rep.

      Afterwards, TPG is freakin' sweet

I would suggest TPG also, terrible over the phone customer service but once you get it all problem free it's fast, quite reliable and best of all, cheap!

  • I would suggest iinet. naked dsl. I pay $60 for free voip and local and std calls. they give 50 Gb + 50 Gb off peak as well. off peak times are a bit early for me. the free calls beat anything else I checked out for days!
