Coles Master Card Cash Advance

Does the Coles master card need to make a transfer to another account like a debit card before doing cash advance as I can't cash out via normal ATM for some reason? it keeps saying over limit.

Also the Coles app and online doesn't show how to transfer money to savings to cash out It's with full balance of $3000 who ever made this app surely made it hell hard to use.

  • I had extra money on my coles master card (ie. my own money). They still charged a cash advance fee when I drew it out at an ATM.

    • Did you ask them to waive the fee? I had a similar situation recently and put in a Feedback form and got this response:
We have reviewed your account in detail and have determined that the fee in question has been charged in accordance with the terms and conditions of the account. We refer you to the Conditions of Use booklet which outlays how and when various fees are charged. Although no error has occurred, we have waived $30 as a once-off goodwill gesture. Please note that we may not be able to take this same action again in future.

  • how much are you trying to withdraw ?
sounds like , you are trying to withdraw over the limit?
most cards have a default limit for withdrawal of 1k.
sounds like you are trying to take out 3.
most cards limit can be increased to 2000.

  • The card limit is $3000 I tried $1000, then $500 had no luck, tried a few different ATMs as well.

  • Some cards like the crappy ING one I have limit cash advances to 10% or a similar figure of the entire limit. Check the T&C's

  • What you saying u can with draw the entire amount? My nab lets me withdraw any amount up to my limit of $5000 or so.

    • Use that then.

  • I don't think the Coles card let's you get cash out

  • Being a bargain site, I can't see how any cash advance can be considered a bargain.

The "cash advance" rate is 19.99% on Coles Mastercard

If you dont have the money to buy, then getting a cash advance can turn off any "bargain"

    • People like to pretend they're making money through loyalty schemes even though they're specifically used because they cause unconscious increases in the amount of money being spent and allow data collection to cause further spending to occur by manipulating the victim's circumstances.

Or maybe they're pretending that they don't have to pay it back so they can spend like a child in a fantasy like many people seem to.

      • Or a lot of people are really ahead of the games, use their card for business purpose and get a lot of points out of it.
