Got a promo deal from linkmount for 20% off everything. Don't know when it ends it just says "limited time". Linkmount is a great magnetic phone mount system, with a magnetic dock system, camera mount thread and finger ring to make holding your massive smartphone easier with just one hand. There is also a detachable leash system which I've never personally used but could see how it would be handy if you were an active type. The build quality and engineering is excellent and I've now happily owned a few of them. Don't buy a crappy suction mount ever again!

    Example of deal in title? Prices?are these things normally $5 or $50?

    Edit: Wow. Site appears to be in US$. Normal price is US$30 + US$13 shipping to Aus. 20% off makes it US$37 delivered or about $48 Dollarydoos…

    Only reason I suspect it is in US$ is because at check out it asked my Zip code and when I changed destination to Aus, it went from free shipping to $13 shipping for “international”.

    I want to neg this post, as a $48 finger ring is NOT a deal. There are millions of these things out there for $2, but I know someone will say, but yeah, this one had a tripod thread mount. And that is the only thing saving this at the moment.

      9mm is way too thick and the whole thing is very ugly IMO. And at that price, forget it - that's more than I'm willing to spend on a case, let alone a case accessory.

      I'd argue that the quality on these is far superior to a cheap plastic jobby - it's all machined and cast steel. I'm not prepared to risk my $1k worth of smart phone for the price of a cheap leash or mount. Mine has never failed in the car, driving over pretty rough roads. Plus the feature set is extensive. If it's not for you that's fine.

        Yeah, nah, yeah. Still not convinced this is any better.

        Most of the ones I have found have also been metal, so that isn’t really a great selling point. Most of the $5 ones have the same sticky 3M mounting tape, so I would feel just as safe. And I don’t know if the ISO testing standard for finger ring holders is “pretty rough roads”. Apart from the “tripod 1/4” thread mount hole”, what does it do that a $5 one can’t? I can get ones with can openers, ball mounts, mag mounts, screw drivers or bottle openers. Some swivel, some don’t.

        Still not worth a $40+ premium… the amount of positive votes on this deal kinda says that.
