Bargain_Oz thoughts? EDIT: CAUTION

Hi I'm looking to buy this phone but I can't understand why they have two different S7s

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S7-SM-G930F-4G…

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SAMSUNG-GALAXY-S7-SM-G930-UNLOCKE…

Has anyone bought with them before? I don't know if there's a catch i'm missing here.

(First time buying online so i'm hesitant)

They are eligible for the PLUG20 20% off discount too, which makes the S7 only $400. Much lower than anywhere else I can see

EDIT: DO NOT TRUST BARGAIN_OZ

Their eBay page is very suspicious, I trusted them because they were in the PLUG20 sellers list.

They are under PinPin Enterprises.

They advertise as new but are really not.
I actually put through the order and was able to get a refund by sending in a request to cancel order by mentioning getting refund through bank or contacting ACCC.

Comments

  • sounds like they're refurbished phones from this statement

This is as new condition and may have been activated earlier for testing purpose & not brand new factory sealed unit. Actual battery life may vary depending on usage patterns, installed apps and phone settings

    • Oh ok I see that now, is that bad thing? Is turning it on for testing purposes legitimate or would it be more used do you think?

    • I did my research:

They are under PinPin Enterprises which have horrible reviews

      https://www.productreview.com.au/qa/catch-deal.html

Refurbished means to them old phones with new/fake parts, not covered by Samsung(or Apple). They apparently do NOT have new phones, at all!

  • Two things ive noticed. One is SM-G930F the other is SM-G930 (not sure if theres any difference)

The SM-G930F description says "Phones come in a generic box packaging with all standard/generic accessories included (USB CABLE + EARPHONE). T"

Whereas the SM-G930 comes in new, sealed retail packaging.

    • SM-G930F is the model number of the Australian S7's

But it's confusing how they say "they're 100% local Australian stock" but it sounds like they're grey imports

  • Doesn't the foreign model come with dual sim or something like that?

  • Says in the item specs. First listing:
    Brand: Samsung Style: Smartphone
    MPN: SM-G930F Storage Capacity: 32GB

    Second listing:
    Brand: Samsung Style: Smartphone
    MPN: SM-G930V or SM-G930A or SM-G930T Storage Capacity: 32GB

So the second one is NOT the Australian standard model, Australia uses the international model G930F. So you'd have to be cautious of bands, carrier locks, and that the A/V/T models are Snapdragon, with US firmware, with a locked bootloader so you can't root / custom ROM.
Samsung doesn't honour warranty for non-Australian models, and the listing says 12 month for both whereas official Samsung warranty is 2 years. So both are grey imports, and only the first is the international model.

  • +1
Shipment: *Direct from international office if shortage in AU*

A new seller who you really couldn't trust.

Aside from that, take a look at the feedback. They have sold more butt plugs and glass dild*s than phones.
I wouldn't trust them if you get an issue down the line.
