2017 MacBook Pro 13”

Hi, I’m looking for a Mac book pro (2017 model) without touchbar. With at least a 256gb ssd. They have one at Costco for $2100 with a 2.3ghz i5 and 256ssd for $2099. Is that worth it?
If it isn’t I just please would like to know the cheapest Mac book pro 2017 model out there.

Thanks

  • Not a huge performance gain over 2015, which can be had cheaper. Definitely some weight and size savings.

If you can hold out approx 6mths, the new models may feature quad-core chips, since Intel has announced appropriate CPUs for MBP13.

    • +1, the Quadcores should provide a nice little oomph.
Not that the 2015 models are slow or anything.

However, the 2015 models have most of the niceties of the 2017 (and probably 2018) models… except they actually have IO ports for computing things rather than the clunky and less-portable "dongle life" as it has been known.

  • There's this for about $1500

    • Thanks a lot for the info but I found one for $1700 not sure if this is price jacking though?

      • Price jacking is common during eBay sales. Though I remember reading from previous bargains that with Vaya, they include GST import fees (as it's coming from HK and valued over AUD$1000) so you have a much smoother deliver and don't have to pay any duties. Also if you use CashRewards (total 21% off), you only end up paying $1674 for the MacBook.

Why would you want a mac

    • what do you think??? For video editing, graphic design and for documents. Macs are powerful for productivity.
