Buying a Macbook Pro - Touch Bar | eBay and Apple Care

Has anyone here had experience with buying a Macbook off eBay and purchasing apple care once receiving the laptop.

Is this the same process as buying from JB Hi-Fi?

Applecare has to be bought with a year of the device being sold thru an official reseller. Another gotcha if it is being onsold that to claim something under Applecare they ask for the original receipt.

    From experience, it can be just harder to convince whomever is at the Apple store. The main issue I've observed is if the original owner has purchased Applecare then resells the device to someone else (and doesn't provide the original receipt).
