Best Noise Cancelling Head Phones

Hi,

I am looking to buy a set of Noise Cancelling headphones and I see people are recommending the Bose QC35, I also see there are some discounted on ebay at the moment.
What I want to know is there much around that are better at noise cancelling than the QC35? I heard the sound of the QC35 is fairly average but the noise cancelling is the best?

Thanks,

In 2 weeks we get a post - "My QC35's are fake!"

Threads about NC headphones comes up every couple of days

  • The other consideration is how you'll use them.

Do you use headphones like this today for commuting/at work/at home, or do you use earphones?

It's a big shift to headphones if you use earphones normally.

I opted for QC20 earphones because I can take them everywhere with me, use them at work and the noise cancelling is brilliant. The sound quality from other headphones (for cheaper) is no doubt better, but the NC was the bit that made it for me. I love the sound of the QC35's but I'd never take them anywhere to get use from them.

    Most comfortable - Bose QC35
Best all round - Sony WH 1000XM2 (more expensive)

Noise cancelling, both are roughly on par. But you have more control in the Sony app. Bose only has Off, Low, High. Since you can fine tune abit more most people will agree Sony has a slight edge. It is a software thing, so maybe we might see an improvement in the next Bose update.

As for sound quality, it depends on what you are looking for. Balanced sound and wider sound stage go for Bose. If you want more bass go for Sony. Sony also has the Aptx HD technology which upscales normal mp3 into a higher quality sound. Too be honest, cant tell much of a difference unless you are hardcore audiophile.

However one major disadvantage of the Sony 1000XM2 is that it can only pair 1 device at a time. Bose QC 35 can pair up to 2 simultaneously, so you can have your ipad and iphone paired together and there is no switching involved. This is one of the major convenience consideration.

  • I usually use headphones.
Do the Sony still have the breakage problem?

I've thought about the Bose because they are cheaper at the moment but I suppose he Sonys will be included in a deal soon as well.

  • I have never had better headphones/earphones than Bose! No matter what price range it is. Just be careful on ebay or online shopping cuz fakes are gettin better nowdays!
