Help Me Find a TV Program

Following on from the post from Wystri Warrick I'd like to track down a TV series I saw many years ago.

It was a series where people living in developing world countries talked about how lucky they are with what they have but from our western perspective they have very little. Each episode featured one person and they would talk about how they are so fortunate because they have x, y, and z etc. These things may have been good health, family, or something similar but not related to excessive material wealth.

For some reason I thought the name was something like "Earthly Pleasures" and I think the program came from a European country like Germany or France. It was aired in either in the late 90's or early 2000's on SBS or ABC.

Also, where else on the web could I post this question?

    Keeping up with the Kardashians

    Edit:

but not related to excessive material wealth.

My bad. Sorry to mislead you

Did you fall asleep during the show & that's why you don't know the name?

    • It was on TV last century. Give the op a break :-)

Might there be some connection with 'Global Village'?

    • Awesome! Thanks for that.

  • If you liked the unique perspective of that show and not just solely the humble part of it I highly recommend the series World of Jenks where this guy Something Jenks (I forgot his name now) goes around the world and lives a few days or months in the lives of random people and their professions.. really interesting tv show slash doco iirc. So many cool episodes and the way it is set is pretty interesting and not too boring.
