VCE Brand USB A - USB C 1M Cable $1.83 USD ($2.34 AUD) @ AliExpress

80

VCE has increased the discount on this USB A - USB Type C cable slightly. The usual price is $4.98 USD but they often discount it down to $1.98. Buy it from the app if you want to save yourself another 5 cents.

I am using this cable with my Mi Mix and it works great (inc fast charging). The cable has good reviews on Aliexpress & Amazon.

  • Purchased in the previous deal, only good to use as a data cable, as it is not quick/fast charge capable.
But it is super fast for transferring data, compared to my USB 2.0 stock cable.

    • Out of interest which phone do you have?

Quick charge works for me using the original Xiaomi charger and a Tronsmart one in my car.

      • LG V20, quick charger only works with the stock cable or the AUKey cable I purchased earlier.

    • Not a surprise it is not supporting Qualcomm QuickCharge. Generally, a cable not supporting QC will be able to pass Benson's tests easier. Google and Apple have decided to use USB-PD for fast charging. For USB-PD, USB-C to USB-C cable supporting USB-PD is required.

Bought some from last deal, was only planning to use them for data. Postage was reasonably fast.

      • +1

The AUKey CB-C10 I brought passed the Benson Leung's Test: https://www.amazon.com/gp/review/R3NCEP1M1P2VLS?ref_=glimp_1…

While it does support Quick Charger, but it's a more expensive cable $6AUD (also a thicker and less flexible cable)

        • Actually, we might be both wrong. This cable does support Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.
I just tried it on my Mi4c phone. The meter showed 9V 0.9A. I was using the original charger provided by the phone. I did purposely used up 50% of the battery before I started the test. I couldn't test 12V because that would require draining the phone battery even further beforehand.

As a comparison, I tried Amazon Basics USB-C to USB 2.0 (supposedly USB-IF certified). When using that cable, meter showed only 5V. Once switched back to this cable, meter showed 9V again.

        • @netsurfer: Which app are you using to show the stats? I only know it works for me as it says "Charging rapidly" on the lock screen and it does indeed charge very quickly. Im using resurrection remix on the Mi Mix original.

        • @No: I used a USB meter. I bought a number of them to test QC chargers, Apple chargers, chargers for Android devices (Asus, HTC, LG etc…) and cables. The meter is more accurate than apps.

        • @No:

Same as what you did, when quick charge is enabled, it will clearly say "Fast Charging" on the screen and the battery icon will have a circle surround the "lightning" symbol (I hope you get what i meant).

I got the AUkey QC charger, which is a USB C port charger, and it won't do quick charge with the supplied usb c to c cable, while the stock charger and the Blitzwolf charger is fine with quick charging.

  • I ordered 3 and just got them. All 3 failed the CheckR test
