I bought the S1-5 set from France last year and it's fine. It's pretty much only the box labels that are French.

I will probably wait till the entire "actual complete series Season 1 to 8" to come out in the next year or so before I buy it.
Yeah i don't understand why you would buy a box set for a series that isn't complete.
Lets say that you've downloaded the series to date (remember, it's the most pirated show in history) and some people simply want to 'pay' for it now from some sort of moral position.
I know I own a bunch of box sets that are packed in boxes and never really been played for this reason..
You're right though, it's usually simpler/cheaper overall to wait for the series to finish first..
Season 8 will be out in 2019 and whole set in 2020 :)
Chances are the complete set will be out shortly after the final episode - at a high price. No next series to wait for.
Give it a while and the price will fall though.

I still buy some physical media (IE 4K Planet Earth 2) but season 1-6 out of a total or 7/8 seasons or whatever just seems silly.
The extra content for GOT is phenomenal full of history an lore.
That is the best thing about game of thrones.
So much history and lore and not only what you see on TV.
Higher quality that's not dependent on the whims of a company that could go to the wall, or just decide to turn off the servers.
And that you can sell on if you want.
I don't understand the type of person who will pay more for downloads than it costs for the physical media.
The quality watching it off a Blu-Ray is a million times better than watching it off Foxtel Play. Better quality than iTunes downloads too & with no online/account based DRM you can do whatever you want with it and still be able to watch it for years down the track.

This unboxing vid indicates inside the seasons are in normal plastic amaray cases.
Just dump the outer box, keep the cases and add season 7 & 8 when released.
