Lost with Xiaomi Phones

Hello,

I'm looking to get a phone for my neighbour to replace her phone from 2012. I've been looking at the Xiaomi phones, because all she needs is a cheap phone that is android, a decent camera and has expandable memory. I can see on gearbest that there are HEAPS of phones that meet this criteria that are priced between $200-$300 which is the budget. I'm a bit confused as to which ones will work in Australia (Do i need to get the international edition), which ones come with bloatware or which ones I will have to wipe. Anyone shed any light onto what will be the most suitable phone?

Thanks!

None are very bloated. You'll need the international version to work out of the box.

However it is just the ROM it runs. Both the Chinese and international versions work, but the Chinese version software isn't great here, and Google apps don't work. While it's not hard to put the international ROM on the Chinese one, it is very time consuming due to the way the phones get unlocked.

They are all quite good, but I would say all Xiaomi phones have a average at best camera.

With such basic needs, perhaps just find which phone supports band 28. I don't need it living where I do, but some areas on some networks use band 28 for 4g. I know a lot of them don't have it.

Also check for NFC. Xiaomi seem to ignore this a lot
