Mens Hair Stylist in Sydney

Have always had the same haircut, was wanting to try a hairdresser that could give me a haircut based on face shape, hair texture, etc. i.e. I don't have to point to a celebrity picture in a magazine and get a dodgy version of that…

Actually tried for the free Detail for Men haircut but my experience it wasn't actually the best (not complaining)

Any mid to high range hairdressers? I'm Asian if that helps with recommendations (though don’t really want an “Asian” style haircut as such)

Thanks!

Have you tried the korean salons? they can usually come up with something quite stylish.

(But once you go home and shower, it's almost impossible to style it back the same way they did it! haha)

Shinka? Oddly enough when I want a change in hair style I always go back to my greek barber in Kingsford and just let him do whatever.. it depends the look you are trying to get…

  • bunnings have a lawn mower aisle

wouldn't that be dangerous to try cut your hair with a lawnmower.

      • it's cheaper than getting your ears lowered though.

  • There's a great place in King's Cross, they definitely know how to get you something stylish. A wash, style and cut will set you back $45-50. Check out their Instagram and see if you like what they have going on. https://www.instagram.com/jackrabbitslimsbarbershop/?hl=en

  • Revo, Shinka, Takeshi and team, or Kim Sun Young.

Others like Kippo, At The Garden Tokyo etc are hit and miss.

  • Blue Star Hair Design in the Sussex Centre in Haymarket. Ask for Edwin or Ernest.

  • Thanks for all the suggestions guys - I should clarify I’m Asian but don’t want an “Asian” hairstyle like in the Korean dramas etc. maybe looking for an Ivy League cut something like that

    • Have you tried gumtree? Many final years practice for free

    • The characteristics of hair generally differs between races (not being racist, but it's a fact!) so some of the "western" haircuts are not suited to asian-type hair.

There's no reason a Korean hair salon can't come up with an "ivy league" style haircut if you give them an idea of what you want. I recommended Korean because they seem to be the experts when it comes to Asian hair. They'll be able tell you what's possible and what's not.
