  • Seems like a good deal on the face of it. However I've had 2 sunbeam cafe series espresso machines and they both died a horrible death before the warranty period was up. First one caught fire, second one was a replacement under warranty - lasted less than a year.

The grinders are pretty good for the price though.

  • Just to offer an alternative experience. I bought the EM6910 and this grinder last year. Also got the Sunbeam Coffee School class, which was run by experienced (and in some cases award winning) baristas. Good info provided and hands on experience on the same machine as you own at home.

Bought decent fresh beans and never looked back. Personally I would recommend this machine. Not to mention the free grinder is a great offer. EM6910 gets great reviews generally (particularly at this price point.

Just a personal experience with this equipment.

  • Best bet is to grab this from Myer when they do one of those "$20 off for every $75 spent". Did similar, have the machine, love it.

  • What are some RRP's for this coffee machine?

  • I bought the EM6910 last year or the year before, when they had a similar promotion. except the grinder was by mail order redemption and took about 2 months to arrive. But as someone above said, at this price point it's near impossible to beat. I only average making 1 coffee a day with it (my breakfast coffee), and haven't had a problem. I bought mine from Myer. Don't forget to haggle. they have room to move on electrical appliances. I think I got mine for $610 or something like that.

also, if your grinder doesn't have a little rubber spout attachment, write to sunbeam and ask for one. They sent me one out free. Without it, your grinder will spray excess grinds all over the place. With it, your grinder will only spray excess grinds in a small area around your grinder ;)

  • wow throwing in that grinder makes this an excellent deal… the sunbeam grinder is one of the best mainstream grinders you can get.

  • Edit: I can't read properly.

    • don't pay RRP. you can haggle, get it down to closer to $700, maybe under. I never realised there was haggle room on electrical appliances until I read about it on coffeesnobs.com.au . Then I was amazed when I tried it at Myer for my machine and it worked.

In addition, Myer has a "get $15 back for every $75 spent on small electrical appliances" deal on now or soon. There was another bargain posted about it today. Not sure if this counts as a "small appliance" or not? It's not like it's a fridge or a dishwasher…worth looking in to though.

And pretty sure any legit purchase should qualify for the promotion, even if it's sold below RRP.

  • Picked up this deal at Myer today, they were selling the unit for $719 and with the $15 off for every $75 spent offer it came down to $584! Such a bargain for the package including the grinder. Makes great coffee too :D

    • I bought the same at Myer in Highpoint on the Saturday. They didn't tell me they changed the price to $799 before applying the discount. Only found out when we checked the receipt afterwards. Which Myer did you buy yours at? If I can find a Myer that honoured the $584 price they will refund me the difference.
