I don't know if I really need this at the moment. Yesterday's storm cleaned my car pretty well.

  • Do you think we can use it on the 2 for $18.00? if not then your only saving $4.00 as a single is $14.00

  • Got some nice scratches to show from the last time I used a Coles Express Car Wash…
A free car wash is not worth the damage it causes…

If you've got an old car and don't care about damage, go for it…

    • Hell No

I was lucky no scratches but the wash it did was crap, and wast it $8.00 when they offered it last time ?

    • @jv
Any photographic evidence to substantiate your claim?

      • yeah right, as if I'm going to go take a picture of my car just to prove it to you…
My car is just over 3yo and the only scratches on the duco are the ones from that car wash…

FYI, it was the Coles Express on Doncaster Rd near Doncaster Shoppingtown…

When i hand was my car, i always make sure to hose off all dirt and to wash and rinse my sponge so that there is no dirt to create scratches, obvioulsy these car washes don't do that well enough… the only time i'd use one of these car washes in future is if my car was old and already had lots of scratches…

        • Not that I doubt your claim but just so as to see if the scratches are heavy or superficial. If they are light scratches, they can be polished off with a fine cutting car polish.

    • Tried speaking to them about it?

We guarantee a safe, scratch free wash for your car and have a dedicated customer service team for any issues that you may have

No, what's the point… I'm not going to get my car re-sprayed just to get rid of some small scratches…

  • LOL our second car will need at least 2 washes to cut through the thick layer of dirt.

Someone needs to check out and report back if the 2 for $18 deal gets you 2 more washes, 4 washes might be just enough!

  • I pay $15 (regular customer) for an outside only hand car wash at the BP petrol station (they're separate from BP) on Parra Rd in Granville/Auburn and they do a really good job.. not worth the scratches to save a few $$ plus I don't think I can take either of our cars through those things because of the type of antenna both of our cars have

I don’t think I can take either of our cars through those things because of the type of antenna both of our cars have

If it is not one which you can push back into the car then it will unscrew

      • Yeah both of our cars have one that is on the top of the car that doesn't retract when the car is off

        • Then it will unscrew

    • Just remember to remove any valuables/loose change before you go, otherwise you car will come out a bit lighter (and I don't mean the paintwork).

      • Yep I agree with that, never had any problems though with these guys

      • errr; you sit in the car while the machine washes it. Only way you can lose money is if you throw it at the machine while it's washing.

Anyway; If it doesn't do a good wash, go inside and say: "this machine did a dodgy job" they will let you go through again from free. Stop being pussies and talk to people sometimes.

I think stumo was referring to my comment about taking it to a hand car wash place, not through one of the machines.

  • +1

i'm the laziest bastard in the world but i'd rather hand wash my car than risk it on these machines

run it through twice? yeah… cop twice the damage and it's still dirty

  • Does anyone wash their car at the public car wash where you use a jet spray and a foam brush? That can be nasty as well if you do not jet spray the brush prior to using it to wash off any sand or hard dirt on it.

  • Do you really expect these machines to as good as $100 worth of proper car detailing wash? Of course NOT! When you use these kinda wash you should know that it comes it it's own risk. Remember, you get what you pay for, don't ask too much.

  • Well I use a laser 'automatic' carwash, and it's touch free, so I don't have to worry about it scratching my car…

And I'm friends with a guy that works there, so when he's there, it's a free wash :-)

    • Does it clean well?
