Anyone Have Experience with Bamboo Memory Foam Pillows?

I saw on groupon that they had a deal for two bamboo memory foam pillows : https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/mnb-variety-imports-7163203…

Was thinking of getting them since i need replacement pillows anyway. I noticed ebay has a lot of similar ones but they seem to be smaller.

Anyone have experience with any of these?

  • 100% shredded memory foam filling

This usually won't have the same feel or consistency as a memory foam pillow moulded into a single piece. You'll have some regions of the pillow which are soft, hard, or feel lumpy.

You can try these types of pillows at Spotlight. i ended up buying a Downtime Memory Rest pillow — they cost roughly 50 - 80 bucks depending on where you buy. Check ebay and Myer.

Also try Latex pillows — usually softer and more bouncy.

    • Im not too fussed about the memory foam…i was just looking for replacement ones and these seemed to be decently priced. I think cheap cotton pillows come in sets of 2 for about $20-25?

Is shredded memory foam still comfortable though? What about the "bamboo" cover?

  • Just Google cheap bamboo pillows review there you have your answer.

  • I got a couple when they were being sold out for $10 in the shopping malls, they look the same as the ones in the photo. Had no problems and they are in my pillow rotation. Quite comfy and seem pretty solid. It's all subjective though so you wont really know until you've tried one out. At that price though it wont be too big a mistake if it doesn't work out.

    • Would you say they are better than normal polyester/cotton pillows?

      • Yes, they seem a bit more comfy and supportive.

    • Did they come rolled up in a bag? Used mine for a few months and unfortunately there's a rather large indent where my head lies :(

      • Yeah I tend to 'fluff' mine in the mornings and rotate it as well. I also stick it out in the sun and fresh air every few days. No problems yet but only had them a few months. :)

  • +1

The only problem with Bamboo products is if you have any mould issues in the home. Bamboo suffers from mildew & mould quite easy.

    • How do you know if theres mould in your home?

      • I think you would see it or smell something. If your home gets humid with little or no ventilation, that is ideal for mould.
