Free 100g Prana Chai (+ $4.95 Shipping)

240

This stuff is great - usually costs $20 for their 250g bags. My local cafe uses it, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Just gotta pay shipping.

Also note, once you go through the payment options, you can add in a chai pot, strainer and recipe books for $15. Not sure how worth it these are, but I figured why not… needed a new strainer anyway. Make sure you click through the yes/no at the bottom of this page for your order to be processed

Ps - it will only let you order one per person

didn't tag it as a freebie for that reason. but the chai is free. you simply pay for the costs of shipping (unlike your fun hypothetical $20k shipping). nor is it hard for a normal person to see the cost of shipping in the title, you negative nancy.

    Shipping kill this deal

  • Reviews look good, if only I could buy multiple packages to balance the shipping.

Also edit that bs description - it's 250g for $20

    • +1

too right. fixed, thanks. (sorry - was going off their little blurb on the link which made it sound like the 100g was $20. I usually buy this by the cup so I have no idea lol.)

  • +1

$4.95 seems like a great price itself for 100g packaged loose chai. The T2 one is about $14 for also 100g and it's one of my favourites.

I'm not sure if I have had Prana Chai before but is this a very full bodied/spicy chai? Most chai are quite weak.

Shipping for $5 seems okay, I guess. No thanks RE: recipe booklet and strainer.
Guess I'll chai it out to see if I'll be a tea-liever.

@tanoshiiki: Then you should chai hard with a vengeance.

    • +1

Isn't this thread just tea-ming with puns..

  • How did you get it to come up with the extras for $15? It’s not coming up for me.

    • Thanks for links.

  • Thanks OP! Can't wait to try making this at home. I've only ever had chai out at cafes so am unsure how much to brew per serving? Can anyone advise please?

Edit: Nevermind, just saw the recipe book in previous post that gives step-by-step instructions :)

    • Remember chai tea is not chai latte

      • +4

Remember Chai = Tea. Chai Tea = Tea Tea

        • The "Chai" that we order here is really masala chai (i.e. spiced tea), but it's probably been a marketing thing to simplify it to just chai.

  • Thanks only got this offer for the strainer and pot. Recently purchased a full set but haven’t tried it yet (with cup and 250g chai plus pot and strainer).

  • https://www.originalchaico.com.au based in Melbourne and have/had a stall near Melbourne Central. They offer 2 types of chai in lovely 2 piece metal containers.

    Tried 2 CC.

    • yep same here

    • guess it finished at midnight then, idk… thought maybe not, seeing as you commented a few mins beforehand, but looks like someone else had the same issue

      • Thanks - successfully ordered for myself, then family member wanted order, which failed payment. Order was different name & address.

Could just be after hours payment issue as offer is still up. Failed about 20 min before midnight - tried many times on few CC before commenting.

        • ah good to know.. might be something to do with that. will wait and see how others go with ordering.

          @thumbybumbi:
Tried order on different phone, in different name & address, different CC - still fails at payment stage after submitting CC. So definitely order for a different customer.

Condition on 1 per customer says order will be cancelled if order more than 1.

I'd say their payment system is down.
          May work tomorrow.

        • @thumbybumbi:
          Payment system working now.

    • question - had you already ordered one? it's a max of one per person. just trying to figure out if this is expired or not, as per comment above.

  • Pretty good chai. Also FYI if you want to buy the 1kg pack it's cheaper at Budan Beans instead of the RRP (purchased for the missus, legit website).

  • +1

Their website says that 250 g will make 15 cups of tea.
100g will make only 6 cups. So paying $4.95 for 6 cups equates to 82.5 cents per cup. Is it really worth it?

Orders processing again - payment wasn't working before midnight last night & early this morning. Just placed order for family member who wanted the pot etc.

Note: invoice email for pot, strainer, sent 15 min after chai invoice.

    • Thanks for the update. I was having trouble ordering last night, so just successfully ordered now.

    • +1

brilliant, thanks for the update mate. :)

  • Was also having the credit card error message last night but just ordered a set with the pot/strainer now. Hoping it'd make a good gift for someone who wants the cafe chai experience at home.

    Got mine today, thanks OP!

  • +1

    Chai arrived in Brisbane today.

  • Chai arrived in Melbourne today. Still waiting the strainer and pot though. Must be coming separately.

  • Did you guys receive shipping notification or did it just arrive?

    • Packet of Chai in envelope in letterbox.
May be different with pot & strainer orders - family member waiting for that order.

      • Hmmm okay, thanks. Nothing has arrived yet (I ordered both chai and the pot/strainer) but hopefully soon!

Pot, chai & strainer delivered by AP courier 7am this morning. (No tracking or notice.)

Got the packet a few days ago and just happened to get a second one today. Only ordered one, thanks OP!

    • +1

haha, score! still waiting on mine - all these comments are making me jealous lol

Also received another chai🍵 today after ordering 1 free chai at beginning of this deal👍
So 3 chai (so far) & 1 pot & strainer set from 2 orders for family.

    • +1

Wow, I also received a second pack, even though I only ordered one!

  • Pot, chai & strainer delivered in Brisbane by AP courier 7am this morning. (No tracking or notice.) Nice heavy base on pot.

But no recipe books - can be downloaded.

Were the printed recipe books really part of this deal? Not in invoice & can't see offer unless order again. Emailed request to confirm.

  • Received pot, strainer and chai today - delivered to Parcel Locker. No recipe books, but that's fine. Never received shipping confirmation but ordered 5/11 and received 13/11.

  • Received pot and strainer today, plus a bonus Chai! Got two Chai in total! So $4.95 x for 200g :)

  • Received another free pack of Chai.
Ordered 2 for family (including pot) - received 4😁

When I redeemed free coffee offer after buying Lavazza coffee pod machines (old deal where Cashback was far more then purchase price), they kept sending free coffee. Ended up with 480 free pods😀

    • wow lol. reminds me of the sensory lab coffee deal - they sent me an extra 6kg of coffee (although, i did a group order so I was ordering a lot). everybody got early christmas presents of coffee.

  • I received the Prana Chai. It is a blend of black tea, dried ginger, whole cardamon pods and honey. The other types of chai are blended with agave etc.

If you like a really "hot" and spicy chai this is not for you. In tasting the chai I didnt detect any taste of black pepper, which is found in other brands.

Overall the tea has a nice balanced flavour with a good hint of honey.

    • This Chai certainly is sweet with honey. (I've eaten some straight from the packet.) The alternative is the Agave Blend created with the vegans and diabetics in mind. It has low GI

I am more used to drinking a spicier Masala Chai - made with Black Pepper, Ginger, Clove, Nutmeg, Cassia, & Cardamom. Just a packet ground spice mix from Indian shop added to black tea with milk (& sweetened).

This Chai has a mild flavour. First made it with milk & was disappointed. Changed to recommended Soy Milk for smoother, tastier drink. Still experimenting - the free packets help with that.

  • So did anyone end up getting the recipe booklets in hard copy with their order?

I agree it's a very mild blend. I prefer something with a little more kick personally, but it's fun to experiment with a different brand.

    • They never bothered answering my email regarding those😠

      • If you really do want them, try emailing and/or asking on their facebook? They've since added me to their mailing list and I'll probably unsubscribe soon.

        • As I wrote I emailed on 13/11 - when I first received the pot etc. They never responded so they don't want any future business from me.
