    Cheapest

  • I think that it’s disgusting that people would buy caged eggs just to save a few cents.

      Sometimes I save $1.

Are you self-flagellating by coming to OzBargain?

There is no way to guarantee cage-free eggs at all.

Whatever it says on the box, you have no idea where your eggs came from.

Certification? Sure, have a cage-free showpiece for the regulator, buy normal eggs and resell as free-range.

Cameras? Sure, show your 1 cage-free farm in the webcam, and not your 50 cage farms.

There no way to guarantee them - unless they come from your own chicken or you monitor the specific eggs from the farm to the shop, and buy that box.

I'd like the equivalent of wagyu for eggs where the chickens are massaged daily - anyone know where I can buy?

  • I recently switched from cage to free range. This is for selfish reason though - so I feel good about myself. In reality, if you replace the chickens with humans, then all we are arguing is the correct size of a prison for a group of people while continue to kill and eat a whole heap more of humans at the same time… It's f-ed up either way unless you go full vegan (which I am not)…

    • Well, some prisons (e.g. in South American countries) are deemed too small and overcrowded. However in the UK (and possibly here) people think live is too easy for prisoners…

Therefore I would say that more space is a good thing for an innocent chicken.

  • caged eggs, I just can't taste the difference.

  • We try to buy FR but I barely do shopping.

a health store near me was selling 2.5 doz FR for about $12. largest eggs ive seen, best tasting, mostly fresher than the supermarket, not cooled and I shit you not 80% were double yolk.

That was the peak of my strength training and now I barely eat eggs anyway so we have a supermarket dozen of FR that lasts the month

  • Always caged, to save space

  • I buy free range eggs and free range meat to ease my guilty conscience.. I don't know if I can taste the difference but hey, I imagine they had a better life before they suffered their painless demise.

Caged only, I hate chickens & I want them to suffer before I eat them. ;)
