U-Buy - Anyone Used It before?

Hey all, i'm looking at a site called U-buy which appears to offer shipped items from US/UK/China

Has anyone ever heard of it before? I can't find anything online, even Whirlpool is unhelpful

They are selling some meeting room tech I am chasing for work, and its like $500 cheaper than Aussie supplier

Thanks

    I always like to just google 'Site' + reviews and see what pops up. Seems like there are a few red flags around it such as;

    however if they take PayPal at least you're protected!

    • How does PayPal protection work sorry am newb at PayPal and it's uses.

  • Only problem with these reviews is that people don't generally review when they had a good experience, only a bad one

    • Exactly hence we need to somehow weight up "no issues" vs "no reviews" D:

  • If it's something you need for work - support, warranty, etc are going to be almost all more important than actual upfront sticker price. Stick to a brick-and-mortar shop in Australia. Plus you get to claim it on taxes, so not all that much real savings anyway.

  • Hey mate, how was your experience with u-buy?

    Looking to purchase something now. :)

    Edit: WOW $30 shipping.. Never mind..

    Differing electrical standards. If something catches on fire your business will be in big trouble. If you are an employee, well you'll get fired. Don't risk it.

    I'd hate for your office to be closed for a week renovating. You'll lose a lot of clients too. Worst of all if it happens when a client is in the room with you. It will leave a bad impression. Ouch. $500 is nothing, spend it well, get it locally.
