  • hi rutsty4, in the recent past I've not been able to buy games from other regions for my XB1. I thought MS were stopping cross region purchases. I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Hey DBMJ, xbox 360 games are not able to be "purchased" from other regions even when They're free, but Xbox One games work fine when free. It is getting increasingly more difficult to pay for games in other regions (it's definitely still possible, I do it all the time), but when games are free due to GWG or another promo, all you have to do is go to the Microsoft store website from that region and sign in with your account, then hit buy. It will then show as purchased from the Australian store and you can install it.

The exception to this is games that are not available in the Australian store. You can install these games by changing the region on your xbox to the region of the game you bought, then going to my games and apps and the game will show up. Install it then switch back.

      • Hey Rusty4 thanks for clearing that up. That makes sense as some games I've been able to buy and install and others not. Is this the same for DLC? Cheers :-)

        • No problem, and yep!
