After a fair bit of research today looking for a suitable drone for my sons Christmas present, I settled on the MJX Bugs 3 Drone. Brushless motors, great flying distance and flight-time were what attracted me, and many excellent reviews (just google the model). I managed to get a code today which further reduces this to $69 USD.

    Yeah - this looks great but I've got an 8 year old and this might be a little too advanced for him I think.

  Although these are toys, you really need to be careful with brush less motors, they take a lot more to stop than brushed, so when children are involved, I'd be mindful.

  Those brushless motors will top out around 13000 rpm.
  If you manage to hit a person or yourself with that, it's going to leave more than a mark, it could be a quite serious wound (or likely multiple wounds)

  Good price - around $120 at banggood.

  I've got the black one.
  It's a beast.
  Only reason i hardly use it is the park restrictions - need to be up at 6am before the Rangers wake up, and what are the chances of that? Yep, zero.

  And yep, they'll shred a 12 yo if you're not careful…
