Windows 10 Tablet with Keyboard and Stylus, What to Buy?

I'm looking for a business-use Windows 10 tablet, around 12" screen. It has to be reliable, with a thin keyboard and stylus. Thinking about getting a Surface Pro 4 (pay extra for typecover and a pen) or Lenovo Ideapad Miix 700 (keyboard and pen are included).

Any suggestions, guys? Major reason I need the pen is I need clients to sign some documents when I show them from the tablet.

Thanks!

  • There's this(20% off at eBay)

Or the 10% student discount for the MS store through Unidays (I can get you a code if you're not a student).

Might have to buy the stylus separately from the tablet.

Edit: I notice this thread is more about which device than where to buy. My mistake.
I don't have any experience with these devices but the range seems limited enough to simply go for the latest and greatest rather than an old model.

    • Thanks for that, mate. I used to own SP4 with 4gb RAM and 128gb storage, found the RAM is painfully small if getting more software installed, but the 8gb RAM version seems pricy.

  • Had the pleasure of owning a working SP3 for about 10 months before developing screen issues. My screen would die when any pressure (such as a resting hand) was applied. Bit hard not to do if you plan on using the stylus.
7 replacements over the next 6 months saw one that finally worked properly until about a month ago (tablet was just over 2yrs old at this point).
Microsoft dont do in-store repairs like apple, you have to send it away (min 2 week turn around without interim computer), they also send you refurbished models instead of repairing your tablet.
You can't drop the item off at their Minto NSW returns centre, it must be mailed/couriered there, (adding to wait times).
Their replacements lack quality control (hence returning 6 other times).

I cant speak for the quality of the SP4, however if you have any issues you have some exciting times ahead!

    • If Microsoft can do warranty claim like Apple, I would go for a higher end model of Surface Pro.

  • Eve V will be taking orders soon. Might want to have a look at that. They are currently shipping to IndieGoGo backers now.

    • I just Googled that machine, newly amazing device, price is a lot better than competitors for the same specs.

      • It's been getting attention from Intel and Microsoft as well. It depends if you can wait to get it that's the thing

  • +1

Perhaps setup a vote. I like the surface. They are overpriced, but they work so well.
