Hey Ozbargain,

ausfinancetoday.wordpress.com

I've started my own blog on wordpress the past couple of weeks & as ozbargain is part of my inspiration on starting the blog. I thought I would share it here. I'm using my blog as a tool to learn about finance myself but in doing so I hope to educate a few people along the way. I understand people on ozbargain are extremely knowledgeable in the subject of finance, so please go easy on me as i'm just starting out.

If you have any suggestions or topics you think would suit the page, please let me know.

        So you've learnt not to post personal attacks? Good.

        Get a better font, that one is pain to read.
        Use sub-headings, like "You’ve managed to survive your first 18 weeks of being a parent. Congratulations." that could be a sub-heading so those skim reading can see interesting parts and it helps to establish beginning, middle and end without having to read the whole text.

        Maybe get a better theme too. I can't easily tell where on post ends and the next begins when skimming through.

        Wordpress is pretty meh, look at Ghost https://ghost.org/
        I use Ghost for my blogs and the free themes are way better

        Also buy a domain, so you can drop that wordpress.com rubbish.

          "You are using too many long words. Try replacing some of them with shorter alternatives."
          It scores each sentence, all the words, blah blah blah. Try it and see.

          100% agree, Wordpress.com is awful cant do anything with it. buy a domain and if you want to stick with wordpress use wordpress.org, trickier to set up and use but you can install any theme you want and customize a lot more and you get the hang of it quite quickly

    Your wordpress is ausfincialblog and your page is called happinvesting its just confusing ,theme is super generic , you have no under title tag line under the title so people dont know what the blog is even about , theres also no tagging of posts with keywords and you have different size fonts in random places.

    you also dont have a twitter and other page links - they are under widgets - add a side bar and chuck some on , it just loks more professional.

    Sorry OP, but you're not even the first person this week flogging a financial novice blog for more hits. I think saying you are 'sharing' it is a stretch.
