Samsung Galaxy White J7 J700

Is this Samsung J7 J700 any different to a normal J7 I'm thinking about buying it while I can get it for $239.20?

Any pros and cons about it would be appreciated. I'm definitely after a Samsung phone.

That phone is the outdated 2015 variant, which uses a entry level Snapdragon 615 / Exynos 7580
    It has 1.5 GB RAM

The $299 price is definitely a little outrageous, but for $239.20 I would still be relunctant to purchase it, as that price puts it in the same strike zone as the Moto G5 Plus, and occasionally the Xiaomi Mi A1 or Redmi 5x.

    Pros
    AMOLED display
    Samsung brand is a pro… I guess?

Cons. These cons far outweigh the pros.

    Its only Single SIM
    Low resolution display
Low amount of RAM may cause stutter and lag, and Touchwhiz is not a 'light' Android skin. It has a lot of software gimmicks that would perhaps require 2GB, sometimes 3GB to run smoothly.
    CPU performance is low
    It lacks fast charging technology
    It lacks Band 28
Phone was released in 2015 and is not a flagship phone, so it may not see Nougat anytime soon

    • Wow I asked for it. You really put me off buying it. I want to buy a Samsung but budget is around $220-$250.

      Thanks scrimshaw much appreciated.

If you must have a Samsung phone and your budget is very tight, look for the Galaxy S5 instead

        Samsung Galaxy S5 $278.4 with 47 upvotes

        It's australian stock
        It supports Aussie LTE networks
It's also water resistant and has faster CPU and more memory
NFC meaning you get Samsung Pay.

It was also a flagship phone, but because it is from 2014 and runs SD801, it won't have an official update to Nougat. But there are many, many ROMS for the device.

Its a good phone — was my previous one before I got my Galaxy S7.
Good device but it feels and looks outdated, and you'll probably never use it's awful fingerprint sensor (so terrible it's actually a chore to use it)

        • Okay I will most likely go for the S5 then the only reason for going for the Samsung is its easy to use if another phone had same software I would consider it.

        • @Ron025:
We must live at different world.

Samsung is famous for good specs with bad roms(software).

Another general rule is never touching Samsung's cheap phones.

        • problem with a lot of non-tech savvy users is that they get attached to the software their phone ships with. They get familiar with the quirks and limitations of the user interface, and when handed a different handset they instantly become confused.

So when it's time to upgrade their old handset, they go back to buying the same brand over and over again even though there might be better options available.

And yes, Samsung's range of mid-range and budget phones are universally terrible and their pricing is uncompetitive. You'd be better off buying their discontinued flagships.
