Cannot Decide Between These Two Seagate Hard Drives

Hi, guys.

Looking for a extra 4tb hard drive just for everyday use, No NAS. Cannot decide these two. Both Seagate, but hardly tell any difference. I'm aware Ironwolf is for NAS, and Barracuda is just ordinary, any suggestions?

Seagate ST4000VN008 IronWolf Hard Drive

4TB Seagate 3.5" 5900rpm SATA 6Gb/s BarraCuda HDD PN ST4000DM004

Thanks sooo much in advance!

You're not using it in a NAS, so get the drive thats not meant for use in a NAS?

  • Building off of @scrimshaw's comment:

More cache means more effective peak transfer speeds. Get the Barracuda for everyday use.

  • get a NAS………
